But then I'll have the autism.  Wat do?

Doctors aren't ready to call it a cure just yet, but there is a lot of excitement around this - partly because the benefit has lasted for years, and also because the vaccine may stop or slow other autoimmune diseases from rheumatoid arthritis to lupus.

Excellent stuff, there is a shiatload of autoimmune diseases out there. Let the curing begin. I'll happily take a TB vaccine, if people don't want to because they're dumb enough to think it will give them autism, that's their loss. Let them enjoy their illnesses.

Your trying to trick me, aren't you?  Well, it won't work.  Everyone knows the autism is the worst thing that could ever happen.  You go get yourself all shot up with the autism, I'm gonna sit over here and be smart.

If the vaccine is 100 years old, aren't any copyrights and patents expired?  It would be hard to jack the price up 10,000% when someone can come around an sell the same thing with a 5,000% increase.  On the other hand, keeping this in the testing phase for a real long time will allow the drug companies to continue selling Luntus strips at 1000% margins for as long as needed.

They can be renewed.

So don't pay it. Make your own.
Oh, right...

Insulin is 100 years old and its price tripled between 2002 and 2013. And that's on one of the recurring revenue drugs. If this vaccine really is a one-time cure they'll probably end up pricing it up with the one for Hep C.

Will it work on type 2 or is the only cure for that still diet and exercise.

If a cure for type I diabetes cost $100,000 per person it would still be worth it.

That's why they are going to make damn sure that nobody gets to do it with $100 worth of off-label TB vaccine.

Greedy people will find a way, if there is one, to make a bundle off of peoples suffering.

I always wonder how they come up with these weird connections. Are scientists sitting around the lab and one guy says, "You know, I'm tired of trying to think of new chemical combinations to treat diseases. Let's see what we have in the fridge we can try. Hmmm...a couple mustard packets, a jar of pickles, a Tupperware container with something green and fuzzy...Hey, who stuck this TB vaccine vial in here? Oh, what the hell."
