When you became a Republican, Geraldo, you utter asshole.

You knew, full well, what they were capable of doing. You were fine when they embraced Nazis, and white nationalists, and bigots. You were pretty damned quiet when they started encouraging violence against Muslims. You remained a Republican when we detained and tortured American citizens, when we kidnapped and tortured citizens in allied countries, when we opened illegal offshore prisons and "black sites", cheered on waterboarding.

Hell, you cheered on Trump - a "shoo-in" for the Nobel Peace Prize, you said - and supported Haskel's torture record  - she's gonna be the director of the CIA, not the Boy Scouts, you said - so the idea that this was a surprise to you should be considered bullshiat.

Yeah, you were upset at the brutal anti-immigration stance your party took - but I didn't see you do much about it. You're still a Republican, Geraldo, when better people than you have walked away from the party in disgust over what they did long before this point.

So shut the fark up, you two-faced, windsock-reading asshole.

I'm just curious about the windsock bit. Specifically, do I look on the fact that Geraldo figured out that joining the Trump bandwagon in the first place means he had skills in figuring out which way the wind was blowing? And could I dare to be hopeful that he's figured out that this is a moment when the wind switches direction? I hesitate to think that Geraldo understands anything, and I'm very reluctant to risk being hopeful about this being the sign of an actual change of significance, but it would be nice to be hopeful again.

I hope he is never invited back to Fox again.

I also hope Fox burns to the ground and is never rebuilt. And that Hannity gets charged by Mueller and gets all of his assets liquidated. I don't care if he goes to prison, I just want him poor.

I think the use of "We" is telling. Clearly, Geraldo is implying that both he and Hannity are both operatives of the GOP.

/I mean, if that wasn't already obvious to anyone with half a brain.

In my opinion? Yes on the first part, no on the second part.

Geraldo's never been fond of the Trump administration's anti-immigration stance, but that asshole tolerated everything else, right down to torture. Geraldo's all about Geraldo's career and scoring attention through sensationalism. The windsock he's watching is sensationalist, not political.

Geraldo figured out that hopping onto the pearl-clutching bandwagon once everyone was angry about torturing immigrant kids, well farking after everyone else had spent days decrying what these assholes were doing to those kids, meant that he could piggyback on the sensationalism of the issue for attention. Did you hear anything from him, anything at all, prior to the "debate" he had with Hannity, during the Trump administration? He was all for "comprehensive immigration reform" during the Obama administration, after all, worried that ICE freeing immigrant detainees was putting criminals back on the streets amid a slapfight over funding ICE. Rivera had no real difficulty with ICE's heavy-handed tactics during the Obama administration, even when Obama did.

Remember, Geraldo Rivera called Donald Trump "his friend of forty years," and his avid support of Trump has been obvious right from the start. Not until the blame could be transferred from Trump to the GOP as a whole did Rivera get on his high horse.

So, no, I don't hold out much hope for that asshole.

I'm sure there are older examples, but I'm gonna go with when you all nominated and fell in line behind a man who, on camera, said about a 10 year old girl "In a few years, maybe I'll be dating her"

2018-06-21 10:25:55 AM
The thing that scares me is that this could be tactical - that, by pushing blame onto others instead of Trump for the policy that Trump had Sessions order into place, Trump may actually dodge a lot of what's coming over the months and years as we try to undo the damage.

Nielsen's going to be screwed and Ryan's going to be mocked, while both Trump and Sessions walk away from it relatively unscathed. Trump undid it with an executive order, "fixing the problem," and Sessions appears oddly immune even though it's that asshole who put the policy into place.

"Implying," heck - he's clearly stated that he's a Republican repeatedly, for years. He's not impartial, and hasn't pretended to be for some time.

Early in the book, he recounts a sexual experience with a "strange, sad nymphomaniac" his college roommate had brought home after she had "spent the previous week servicing an entire frat house." His roommates decided to take turns having sex with her. She obliged.
Rivera almost remembers her name.

"Today, I would be filled with rescue fantasies for this creature: then, all I wanted to do was outperform my roommates. I announced I would be first up, leading the girl into my bedroom and silently marveling at the good fortune that had smiled on our home. Later that evening, when my turn came up again, I took some time to talk with her. Pat. I think her name was Pat. She was a little on the slim side. Something about her reminded me of the daughter who loses her baby near the end of The Grapes of Wrath."

So, essentially, his policy his entire life has been "rape first, rescue later"?

Even if we discount the 'pre-born fine/pre-school farked' dilemma, there's always a couple months ago when you all went to bat for a child molester when he was running for a senate seat.  Not to mention the Furor's own proudly admitted habit of walking in on underage girls when he knew they would be undressed and vulnerable.

For decades Republicans have decided that  winning elections is more important than ethics or leadership.  It makes them the perfect symbol of unfettered capitalism.

Hopefully they are both recognized as the societal failures they are and are tossed into the dustbin of history.

Well, in fairness, the GOP isn't really the party of "child abuse" or the party of "concentration camps" per se.  They are the party of cruelty, and they have been for decades. The child abuse, fascistic authoritarianism, dictator-worship, etc. are all symptoms, not the syndrome.

Cruelty is the bottom line. I don't think Geraldo gets this.

Sometime after 2000

From wikipedia:
Commentators have suggested that the Elián González affair may have been a factor in voters' decisions in the 2000 United States presidential election, which could have affected the close outcome in Florida. Al Gore's handling of the matter may have angered the predominantly Republican Cuban community over the boy's return to Cuba. Gore initially supported Republican legislation to give the boy and his father permanent residence status, but later supported the administration position. He was attacked by both sides in the dispute for his equivocal position.

I have no problems with may december romances, my wife is 14 years younger than I am.

I had a great bachelorhood, met my wife at when I was 39 and she was 24.  Got married 3 years later.

Did I have some good years in my left? Certainly could have chased the poon for a few more.

1.I love my wife.
2.Sometimes you have to retire your jersey.

A 34 year old difference is really fooling yourself into thinking you are a STDMAN69.
