Likewise, posting this from an old creaky iPhone 6s Plus with 11.4 installed. No issues so far here.

I had battery drain issues when I first installed, which I thought were do to re indexing. Turns out it was iCloud messages trying to constantly back up. As soon as I turned that shiate off, battery life was back to normal. No crashes as reported INFA, however.

I work for Apple, albeit in another department, but we get IOS calls that slip through the cracks, and I got some angry lady escalated to me.

Brand new Iphone, no passcode, she had pictures of her social security card, her credit cards, her DL, and Find My phone Turned off.  She left it in a bar.

She said "Well, you need to turn find my Iphone on" and I informed her that that was something you had to do from the phone.

She then said she had only had the phone for a couple of days and had not set up the passcode or find my iphone, and I should give her a new phone, because those things take time to set up, and she was a busy person.

Her husband, an android user, was yelling at me as well.

She had another new iphone and the husband was saying"you will show us how to set this up and turn those features on, they should be on by default.

Narrator: They are.

So I walked the husband through setting up the new phone.  I made him read every step to me.

He realized his wife was full of shiat and apologized after.

1.New phone asked him to enter apple ID, she had chosen set up later.
2.The new phone asked him to create a touch id and passcode. She turned all these features off.
3.No signing into icloud, meant no find my phone.

She brought it on herself.

I am all for sticking it to the man, but the man can just go to your cell provider and triangulate where you are and where you were at any given time.

mate I know where I lost it, and I've looked and can't find it.

I've called my provider and no calls have been made. The battery was dead before I realised I'd lost it - I thought I'd left it in my office all weekend.

Good to hear that tech/customer service has never changed. You know, with all of the upgraded versions of id10ts and all

Apple quality, in particular iOS, has taken a dive since iOS11. They have finally started to recover since 11.3, but it's been a downward trend for a while.

I'd blame Tim Cook, but I think it's more that there isn't someone like Steve Jobs at the helm anymore to hold the engineers' feet to the fire.

It's ok to blame Cook, he chose to be the big boss despite not coming from an engineering background. He sucks, and his boy Ives is killing the company.

But who else can tell us how simply elegant and innovative some new (to Apple) feature is (which has been available on Android phones for 18 months already?

My iPhone X has the same camera problems described in the article.......but I'm still running 11.2.5.    When the camera starts acting up, I typically have to reboot the phone to get it to work right again.

I've seen 3 different problems with mine:
1.. black camera view....almost like it had a lens cap on.
2.. stuck in wrong orientation.  landscape, or even upside down... won't flip back normal.
3.. won't save pictures to camera roll.

my iphoneX also occasionally butt dials my dad, despite being locked and in my back pocket.

Figured out it has to do with the tap to wake... then the "emergency" feature on the unlock screen, which can place calls to your emergency contacts without unlocking the phone

As usual, I have no issues with my phone, I never see these "widespread omg panic!" issues with my phone after updates. I wonder if it's because I shutdown/reboot my phone periodically.

So you're actually admitting that an iDevice has issues.  That's progress I guess.
