People are eating charcoal-infused food?  Because "black" food is more enticing?

I need to make this into a meme:

Because it's charcoal.  It's burnt.  I don't know who is behind this trend, but they are sociopaths that need to be hauled in front of an investigation committee and made to explain themselves.

I'm sitting here pondering how to merge this charcoal-activated shiat into a death metal song I'm idly concocting as I morosely eat a salad for a snack because I'm trying to watch my weight.  As I chew I am contemplating the indignity and injustice of aging.

Maybe I'll add that line somehow.

Dad's bakery used to put green coloring in the white bread for St Patrick's Day, and to complement the red bread at Xmas.  This stuff looks worse, like it's been molding on the shelf for months.

Anybody who buys something to "cleanse" "toxins" deserves what they get. You could lace it with radium and they would clamor for it.

Funny as that is, it's not activated charcoal.  Most of the neat food items like that are normal charcoal and only a little bit.  Gives things a neat taste like smoke. (smidge)  Japan does this alot.

For ex:

They DID lace things with radium and people DID clamor for it:

It's carbon. That's it. You can't live off of it, but they dump a ton of it into your stomach to combat certain classes of poisons. I'm sure if you ate enough of it it would do some real harm, but we're talking kilograms of the stuff over a few weeks - basically, enough that you mechanically wear away your gut or you starve to death because the activated charcoal grabs what little nutrition you're actually getting. It's been used as a food colorant forever.

You just need to get food grade activated charcoal, which is easy to find.

Big warning: Don't eat it if you're taking meds for something, because it'll happily absorb those and haul them right out the back end, which means you're not getting the meds. Give them a few hours to actually get absorbed before going for the carbon.
