"Mrs. trump, we need to give a statement on the border situation."
"I don't care. Just make somesing up."

The practice has prompted sweeping outcry from Democrats and immigration advocates, who argue it is cruel and traumatizing for children.

Very telling that the article singles out Democrats and immigration advocates. No Republican is going to listen to anything those bleeding hearts say.

I am not a married man, but if I read between the lines of that statement, the takeaway is that the divorce paperwork just needs a couple of signatures, and possibly an initial or two.

This is not in any way a condemnation of Trump's child abductions.  This is a PR load which tries to set blame on both sides with the BS quote "...hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform. "

This is not a "both sides of the aisle' issue.  Trump put this policy in place and could reverse it in an instant.  Nothing is preventing him from reversing his atrocity today.

Don't fall for it.

Why did you make him hit you?  You know he doesn't like to hit you.  You need to go apologize for disobeying so he had to hit you.

I see a miraculous reversal if and when the budget for The McBonespur Memorial Wall is passed.

snocone: I see a miraculous reversal if and when the budget for The McBonespur Memorial Wall is passed.

From your mouth to God's ear. The wall won't matter anyway, because the Pancho Villa Memorial Tunnel will go right underneath that sucker and pop up in San Diego. The Emiliano Zapata Memorial Tunnel will pop up in downtown Nogales, AZ, and the Vicente Fox "F*ck YOU, Pendejo" Tunnel will exit in El Paso.

That wall is never getting built. The eminent domain lawsuits are going to take decades while lawyers bury each other in paperwork.

Don't need to waste all that nice budgeted money in actual construction. Easily bled off to cronies aplenty.

This is not normal. Not even by Trump presidency standards.

It's hard to gauge her precise motives here, but imagine any FLOTUS openly criticizing her husband while he was in office.

It's amazing. We stop these "refugees" from coming into the country so they don't mooch off of us hard-working taxpayers, and then we house them, so they end up mooching off us hard-working taxpayers! I really hope those mooching freeloaders--who are old enough to panhandle at the border, btw--get deported real soon, because the cost of chainlink fencing and tarps are about to go through the roof with those well-deserved tariffs on China, which means even MORE those snot-nosed brats will be mooching off us hard-working taxpayers!

The first lady spoke out against a policy, obfuscation aside, that everyone knows is directed solely by the WH.

Sure, she bsab the issue. But can you think of another time in history when the first lady released a statement critical of WH policy, no matter what language that criticism is cloaked in? I sure as hell cant.

Apparently the laws about "don't treat people who walk up to the border and ask for asylum as if they're trying to illegally sneak in" don't count.

She's not openly criticizing her husband.  She's saying that poor Donald doesn't want to permanently scare these children, but the damned Democrats are forcing him too, and he'll stop just as soon as they let him.

I had an idea for a post and have been waiting for this thread for, well, a number of minutes now.

Match the FLOTUS to the claim:

a) My Husband is not a WIMP. That, I understand, is a massive sub-atomic particle.
b) My husband never had sex with all those women or else I would never have heard the end of it.
c) Help. I am being held prisoner in the White House
d) I could do a better job of Presidenting than the Boob I am married to. I have half a mind to run myself.,
e) Serves the bugger right.

1) Eleanor Roosevelt
2) Mrs. Kennedy
3) Mrs. Trump
4) Mrs. Bush
5) All of them.

2018-06-17 05:43:28 PM
That's not a condemnation, that's a BSAB. She didn't have a problem with Trump's birtherism either. She's as nasty as he is.

2018-06-17 05:43:29 PM
Democrats like Joe Manchin and Doug Jones are probably already going to cave to child kidnapping. So I'm not sure where she's going with this "both sides" talking point. She already has all the Republicans and probably enough Democrats to stay the farking course. Then there will be apologists on Fark claiming that being against child kidnapping is a purity test and how dare you make perfect be the enemy of good. Then we get to do it all over again the next time President Dennison decides to enact another part of his fascist agenda.

No, everyone does not know this policy is being directly "solely by the WH".  She herself is making the claim that Trump is only doing this because Congress wrote laws which are forcing him to do so.  And plenty of people will believe that bullshiat and give Trump a pass for it.

gilgigamesh: We can debate whether or not it is open, but the criticism of WH policy is unmistakable. Which is, I believe, unpresidented.

It's not that her criticism isn't open.  It's that it isn't criticism at all.  She's saying that what's happening is not her husband's choice or his fault.

Maybe that's a poor choice of words, but taking kids away from their parents without any kind of warning or telling them when they'll see them again?  Yeah, that's the kind of thing that will fark a kid up for life.

Especially if they're one of the kids who commits suicide over it.

And it's definitely irreplaceable harm if they're one of the kids that gets 'lost'.
