Alright... this headline is better

I don't know that I would expect many guests as Trump has hired some of his base as hospitality and servers.

I don't know why you wouldn't want to host an iftar dinner. The food sounds delicious.
A lot of meats, cheeses, pastries and soups...What's not to like?

How many pork dished will they "accidentally" serve? I wouldn't trust that iftar.

Ahhhh. I'm a bit slow on the uptake. I get it now. Thanks, Scotty.

He was going to serve fast food for lunch until they were able to convince him otherwise.

Just wait until menu comes out and you have to choose between Bacon and ham for the main course...

"What, I thought they couldn't eat pork.   I didn't serve any pork.  Look on the menu, nowhere does it say pork.  WITCH HUNT"

Is it still an iftar dinner if he invites no Muslims?

Allah forbid Trump speaks. What could go right?

In a statement issued last month marking the start of Ramadan, Trump said, "Ramadan reminds us of the richness Muslims add to the religious tapestry of American life."

No he didn't. Some WH comms staffer did.

Still a bit of a surprise he's agreed to this. Unless no one's told him about it, which is not outside the realm of possibility.

Ramadan - Ramada. Ramada is (was? I haven't lived in the USA for a few years) a chain of inexpensive motels and hotels.

FTA: 'The White House faced criticism last year for neglecting to host an iftar dinner, breaking with a long-standing tradition'.
The article makes it sound like 'oops, we forgot about that, our bad' instead of being the deliberate snub to Muslims  that it was.

So last year he couldn't do this because his base wouldn't like it. After a year of Trump bullshiat his base has been reduced to a bunch of bag ladies, staggering about and wildly swinging box cutters, hosting a Ramadan dinner is perfectly fine? George Orwell would be so proud.

"And we served the best IHOP feast for the Ramada people.  You shoulda seen their faces. THE BEST.  I can't explain their almost cultish obsession with IHOP, but you shoulda seen these guys, with their Ramadan uniforms--nice people, beautiful people.  They stared, mouths open, at me for seven straight minutes before quietly tucking into their shortstacks. They were so impressed.  Only the most tremendous Eggs Over Mihammy for my beautiful Ramadans."

My money is on they didn't tell him what it is- he thinks it's a dinner being hosted by the Saudis and HE'S the guest of honor.

I wonder if that's when Melania either appears at his side or has a press conference/TV interview where she announces that she's obtained an attorney and has filed for divorce
