Build the swamp!  Build the swamp!

Actually, I don't care about this at all.  I care about his systematic and overt program to wreck the environment.  That's all there is to care about Pruitt.  He is harming you and me and everyone's health and he could do it with these gems or a government-issue Skilcraft.

It is telling that these people think that this is how normal agency heads act.

This adheres to the same protocol of former EPA Administrators

Pruitt seems to think he's some kind of worldwide environmental rape ambassador.

Huh. The font size must be tiny though if they fit "World's Most Corrupt Piece of Irredeemable Excrement and a Poster Child for Why Abortion Should Remain Legal" on there.

I mean, that's not even an accurate title.

My museum bought a metric assload of pens from Myron, and we sell them to tourists. And we spent a lot less than $1560.

The only thing that surprises me about this is that it was spent on multiple pens.

This is basically nothing.  I DO think it's interesting though that he got these for gifts at 120 bucks a pop.

I go through training like every farking year about anti-bribery policies (I literally have never seen anyone from outside our organization professionally in like 8 years but I take the training anyway) and there's no way someone is giving out 120 dollar gifts and it's kosher.

It's doubly interesting because he should know that shiat from the corporate world

Anti-bribery rules are for the kind of people who think one hundred twenty dollars is a lot of money. They don't apply to the kind of people who can afford to spend more than twice that for a week's worth of socks.

I knew which DC shop it was as soon as I started reading the article (and before it was named.) I lived and worked around Connecticut Ave in Dupont for decades, I never once had the balls to enter the Tiny Little Jewel Box, it's that kind of place.

It's  for "foreign dignitaries," as per the article. Not sure why the head of OUR EPA should be meeting with so many foreign dignitaries, taking time out of raping and pillaging our country, but here we are.

We have whatever we scrounge from businesses, hotels, and what visitors left behind. Or we could spend too much on what they have in city inventory, but that money could be better elsewhere.

$130 each doesn't actually seem that bad. I don't get it and would never spend it and it's a stupid way to spend tax dollars but nice, fancy pens are farking expensive for some damn reason.

Just give me a bic. And it has to be fine point.

Medium is what humn beings use.  You do not have the spark of divinity and shall be cleansed.

Seriously, fine point grates on the paper.  Medium glides like a well trained dancer.

Here's the thing that probably makes it absolutely abhorrent to the Trump Administration: Skilcraft employs special needs persons and in a non-exploitive manner.

phamwaa: They look pretty stylish now compared to what I used.

They're small enough to be a little awkward (but easier to carry around), and they are not comfortable to write with for long periods (this has never really happened with the work I do), and I prefer a black gel ink in .7 mm, but for free office supplies they're amazing pens.

Those are awful. Get some god damn G5s and never look back.
I used those pens for 12 years until the squadron I was in finally chucked them and used pens that were actually designed to write.

I restore fountain pens as a hobby and because I'm a total farking dork I know quite a bit about them.  As far as fountain pens go you have your sub $40 range for people getting started, a giant gap of shiat in the middle, and then some really nice stuff in the $200 and up range.
This is of course if you're not a nerd like me who finds old Parker 51s (the sexiest pen ever, look it up) on the cheap and spends a few hours restoring it.
He bought "silver" pens in the 130 range. Probably in the 100 range and another 30 spent on engraving. Because everyone wants a farking pen with their name on it that they can never sell or give away. Pens with names on them are the cheapest to pick up on eBay (unless it's an awesome name like "Harry Butts") and I only do if I have a spare barrel in that color.

So until I learn the mfg of the pen I can only assume he bought shiatty pens that will quickly not work as advertised and lawl at the notion that they are solid silver.  My exception to the price point rule is the Pilot Vanishing Point which is not only brilliantly functional and well made but can also be found (in some models) in the 110-140$ range.

Well, sure, the government skillcraft pens suck if you are primarily using them to write things.   Everyone knows they are 5.56 mm in diameter for a reason.  DS wants to go home, too.

They are awful, they write like a space pen that is almost out of ink on someone's sweaty armpit in the middle of the Amazon.
Unless you want your lines to look like this "______ _____ __ ________ _ _ _ _____"
Stay the fark away from them.

So here's the deal. These pens aren't that expensive  seeing as it's just swag for important dignitaries.

The part that bugs me, that was in a much better article, is that he wanted to eliminate the EPA logo entirely and just have his signature, and eventually settled for a big signature and the logo being small. Oh, and he wanted the challenge coins to be like Trump-centric or Pruitt-centric stuff like MAGA or Bible verses and shiat. He's got as big of an ego as his farking boss.

Oh and the guy who has sued the EPA like 14 times and wants to do away with it entirely is whining because people are being mean to the EPA.

When I waited tables, I had abiut a dozen pens. 10 were shiat pens that I handed to customers, and the other two were what I took my orders with. On the rare occasion where I had to give up one of my good ones, I made sure the customer knew that I would follow them home and retrieve my pen if they stole it...

I hate when my employer buys shiat pens. I'll buy my own... I really like the new Frixion pens, they're actually usable erasable pens, and they write beautifully. But the best part is that they really erase. And not that "erase the top of the paper" 'erase' like it used to be
