This goes way beyond Europe.  The repercussions of this tariff nonsense are being felt around the world.  Trump thinks we'll all be living the high life, but everyone alive will be touched by his regressive economic policies.  And this is just round one.  This assault on sanity must be stopped.  We don't need superheroes.  We need teachers.  We need fresh, progressive economic policies, not crap from the age of the steam machine.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to make love to subby's mom.

US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who announced the tariffs, said in an interview on Thursday that any retaliatory measures are unlikely to have much effect on the US economy

Uh-huh.  Steel and aluminum prices are going up, which means everything made from them is going up.  US exports are going to get hit God knows where.  And this numbnuts is doing his "all is well" impression.

Interesting that China hasn't been hit yet.  I wonder how far that $500 million they loaned Trump is going to carry them?

I don't get it.  How are they retaliating for us putting tariffs on tons of imports when their tariffs only apply to oontzes?

I'll go punch myself to save you all the trouble.

The tariffs are on boots and pants and boots and pants and boots and pants and boots and pants and boots and pants and boots and pants and boots and pants and boots and pants.

EDM would be in response to a precious metals tariff. Those are the ones priced by the oontz.

How?  Trump doesn't manufacture or export anything.  Half of the buildings with his name on them are just licensing deals.

You want to hit him in his wallet?  Then crack down on money laundering (particularly Russian and Arab), which has artificially inflated real estate prices in London, New York, etc.

Second hand then. Impose stiff retaliatory stuff on individual properties and watch those owners go ballistic on the Trump organization for losing them a ton of money.

European Metal > American Metal by a farking long shot.
the same goes for EDM.

(blink blink)

China promised to make sure NK showed up at the summit if we went easy on the tariffs...

The fanta menace is working with and negotiating with our opposition, but not our friends.

You need to be running a successful business to do that.

That's happening without the tariffs. Lots of people taking his name off their buildings. Also. Europe is smarter than that. They will target sanctions to hurt people that they want to hurt.

Whiskey/Bourbon will get hit (McConnell). They previously hit Harley Davidson to hurt Wisconsin, they might again even with Ryan going away. Whatever Europe does, it will be designed to hurt in very specific ways, not this stupid blunderbus steel nonsense.

1) Directly targeting someone with taxes and penalties is generally frowned upon.

2) What exactly are you going to target?

3) Retaliation is comparable in scale. Trump's businesses won't provide that.

4) Even if he backs down now, there is nothing to stop a repeat performance in two months.

5) The tariffs are targeted where they will most impact the Republican Party, the ones that can take his hands off the controls to fix the situation.

The best way to retaliate is to hit trump where it hurts, his supporters. They need to know the price of supporting a man who attacks America's allies and a fall in support would hurt egotistical trump far more than numbers on a page, he's been losing money for years.

It's funny you should say that. I suggested earlier today, a tax on all his European golf resorts.

Horseshiat. Have you seen this mans ego? Losing other people money? How cares. He loses $5 due to a national policy, and he would farking sell off Florida to Cuba to make it back up.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the EU response will be "intelligent, decisive and joint", adding that she needs to be really high to deal with Trump.

Food. With Mexico and Canada already hitting them in those markets, the EU would be a crushing blow, and stuff is already planted, so that clock is ticking already.

Neither of these affect Trump personally. Again, you have to go directly at the man.
