most Republicans argue that the net neutrality rules are unnecessary and onerous for broadband providers.

lol.

But they've been doing it for years, and make huge profits, so how onerous can they be?

This gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Not as warm and fuzzy as actual hope or anything, but still.

What makes you think the house will give a single fark about phonecalls?

2018-05-16 04:05:53 PM
It's the thought that counts?

2018-05-16 04:05:56 PM
It's an election year.  The House Republicans will vote on a bill temporarily extending it for a couple of years.  Trump will then veto said bill.

Better get your bribes ready, Verizon.

Wow. Impressive for a Senate full of derpy Red-Staters.

Paul Ryan will never allow something good to happen for regular and poor folk in this country.  Especially when it harms his family, which is, of course, made up of various beloved corporations.

Never take sides against the family.

That was roughly the case with the responses to it the first time (and the opponents turned out to have a lot of stolen identities being spoofed.) Being popular isn't a saving grace for a law or organization any more.

Congresspeople prefer to receive lobbyist money to phone calls though.

Trump will never sign it, even if it passes the house.

There hasn't been a congressional vote on net neutrality (aside from the one that just occurred).  Your thinking of the FCC comment period which is quite different.

Paul Ryan will never allow something good to happen for regular and poor folk in this country.  Especially when it harms his family, which is, of course, made up of various beloved corporations and traitors...

"There's two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump," McCarthy (R-Calif.) said, according to a recording of the June 15, 2016. Some of the lawmakers laughed at McCarthy's comment. Then McCarthy quickly added: "Swear to God." Ryan instructed his Republican lieutenants to keep the conversation private, saying: "No leaks. ... This is how we know we're a real family here."

Who's going to fight for the poor and downtrodden AT&T and Verizon investors?

Niiiice.

Too bad Trump will veto it before the ink is dry though.

Serious question - do you just show up in every thread to take the worst position on any issue? I mean, it seems like you're consistently on the wrong side, regardless of the topic.

Oh wait!  They already made that decision!

This can now be an issue in the House races. Ask the incumbent: Will you support a floor vote for Senate Joint Resolution 52 to restore the rules on Net Neutrality? If necessary, would you support and vote for a discharge petition? Ask the candidates in the November General the same questions.
