I'm surprised how often this song has been relevant over the past year or so.

Between this woman and the lady who stayed on top of her desk at work for 20 minutes because of a four-inch long lizard, this has not been a great day for fighting stereotyping.

"Young woman yelling in terror" may refer to spraying an entire can of deodorant on her pits.

A group of snakes can be referred to as a den, bed, pit, or nest. The exception to this is a group of rattlesnakes, which is called a rhumba.

A bobcat makes a noise like a young woman screaming. It woke me out of a sleep once and scared the hell out of me.  I live in the city for chrissakes. After a few minutes, I determined it wasn't actually a woman, but at that point I already had my shoes on and was planning to get my rifle.  Creepy.

While working in the wilds of Alaska, we were treated to a lynx singing off in the woods. It was in the wee hours, and was still quite dark. Even after one of the local guys told us what it was, it was still farking freaky

I thought I saw some longitudinal stripes, though it was hard to tell with all the wiggling. (both the snakes and the photographer) The cluster puts me in mind of garter snake mating groups, but I'd think they'd mate earlier in Florida.

Well, I'm glad the newscaster said they are harmless.
Because if they were poisonous I would have said KILL THEM ALL RIGHT NOW!!
But because they are harmless i say KILL THEM ALL RIGHT NOW!!

Every day I've walked/jogged this week I've seen tons of dead snakes on the roads. I really don't remember seeing this many last year.

Venomous, not poisonous.

A group of snakes can be referred to as a den, bed, pit, or nest. The exception to this is a group of rattlesnakes, which is called a rhumba.
</pedantry>

Based on my personal experience as a snake ecologist many years ago I developed the following mapping table:

Den - saw 1 snake
Nest - saw 2 snakes
Infested - saw 3 snakes

I'm too far north for Racers, but my first reaction to the video was that it was a garter snake mating ball.

Mine too. Video was too unclear to check for stripes, though.

I know you think you're being funny. And I know you think that slashie makes it all better. But consider this: how would you expect dog-lovers to feel if you bragged about killing every unattended dog that you see, whether running loose (venomous snakes) or in someone's yard (harmless snakes)? "If I see your puppers I say KILL THEM ALL RIGHT NOW!!" Would that really be the way you want to treat people?

If no, then don't do it about other people's choice in pets, either. It's not funny, it's not nice, and given the number of people who do exactly that, all the time -- a while back, I saw a cute, utterly harmless (unless you're a small insect) green snake smashed and slowly dying, IN A NATURE PARK, because of someone like you. It's really not funny.

Yeah, I know, welcome to Fark and all. But maybe not being gratuitously mean to your fellow Farkers might be a thought?

Jackrabbits do too. I went hunting with a friend who shot one but it was still alive when we reached it. I've never gone hunting since and this was in the 70s.
