I wonder who's really running the country?  today I saw a rambling incoherent old man, not a strong and vital leader.  trump isn't 'there', I think he's mentally already checked out (or is very close to doing so)....so whomever is handling him is the one most likely calling the shots.

Or maybe nobody's calling the shots, and the GOP really don't have any idea what they're going to do about the fact they put a racist and possibly senile old man in charge of the nation and can't admit they done f*cked up.

there simply isn't enough time or oxygen to completely cover each and every piece of controversy pouring out of this White House.

I have a feeling that's all part of the plan.

I can only imagine what our enemies think about this country right now.  Donny showed the entire world that he's weak, confused and stupid.

I just dunno man.  never thought i'd see FOX NEWS cut the feed on a Republican President.

Pence.

I understand it's easy to mock the guy, and deservedly so.

But right now, as it stands, someone has to be giving some kind of orders that actually need to be followed, and he'd be the most likely culprit.

Good question: Who is running the country?
It seems to be the media and the investigative committees. Our POTUS is a joke.
We plebes get the decided upon outrage du jour as the news.

I am starting to get the vibe that even the GOP leadership has no idea what they're gonna do about Trump.  McConnell is barely holding on to the Senate.  Ryan is bailing.  the GOP continue to lose key races around the country while bleeding out money faster than they can dial in the donations.  not to mention that scandal after scandal keeps weakening their every action.

got me what's gonna happen next.  I just hope the christians don't get stabby.

I really don't know who's running things.  McConnell has never been any sort of strong leader.  Ryan is bailing.  Pence is weirdly quiet and working hard at being off stage much as possible.  Donny is a weak, deranged old man with no idea what he's doing.

if we get hit with a major terror attack, I dunno what will happen.

No one is running the country, and that's kind of the point of all this. It's not Trump, it's not Pence, it's not John Kelly. There's no leadership. Half the Cabinet is either under scandal or run by unconfirmed deputies. The ambassador can't say something without being undermined by her own boss.

Because the US government is more of a huge ship than a small sailboat, it'll take years for it to fully capsize. But they've already steered it into rough sees and lost their captain. Puerto Rico is a taste of the incompetence and greed. It's only a matter of time now before real problems happen. SCOTUS nominations, wars, terror attacks, hurricanes. Everyone be happy that Obama more or less kept the ship in close to mint condition when he left.

i'm not sure Donny knows where he's at on a day to day basis.  he's starting to sundown earlier in the day, and the stress seems to be fracturing what little impulse control he had.  So trump might just decide to wake up one day and start off his shift by firing Mueller and not understand why that's such a bad idea.

donny really isn't very bright.

He has fired a lot of people in the last year. Perhaps he is just having a hard time remembering who is who. Maybe the secret to keeping your job is just to avoid eye contact.

except that there's no hint of even that level of organization.  I think the GOP elites figured they could install donny as a puppet ruler and keep a handle on things behind the scenes....but nobody can stick donny in the corner.  he's just too undisciplined and has too many skeletons in too many closets.

I am starting to believe the Republicans have no idea what they're going to do.

There is no policy, and this is ultimately what the nihilist rich want.

They want the government and media cowed and defanged so they can need the neo-feudal lords they pretend they are. And they'll do it the best way they know how: buying everything not mailed down.

They see Snow Crash as the ideal end state.

even if true, I think they wanted a lot more stability than we've currently got.  I mean, if donny were to lock down the country and use brutal thuggery to maintain order....I think they'd be ok with that.  But what we've got now is corruption and instability...and that's always bad for business.

I don't think anyone wanted this.  not even the GOP.

The Executive branch is like the bridge of a ship. Just because no one is actually at the helm doesn't mean that it stops dead in the water. It has to run into something before the passengers know for sure all isn't well. Just because they see the Captain yammering at idiots and spending a lot of time in the head doesn't mean that they will acknowledge we are heading for the rocks.

This "top heavy government" that the Right is constantly whining about? You know, the one with "too many job killing regulations"? Yeah, the existence of that government is why we're still here 15 months after the most worthless sack of shiat in human history was put "in charge of" the most powerful nation on the planet.

That's who's running the country, all of the government that people want to get rid of. There's a momentum built up, and people merely coming into the office every day is what we have to thank.

Today has been an incredibly weird day, even compared to all the other incredibly weird days we've been through since he took office. I've given up on trying to guess where rock bottom lies, because every time I'm sure we must have hit it, Trump proves there's still farther to fall, and the people who could actually do something about it will occasionally wring their hands and look concerned and...do nothing. Yeah, roman candles in a phone booth, and we're all locked in.

Trump is playing at least a 9 dimensional game. Not only is be gaslighting the public he has also extinguished the flames so that anybody who looks closely at him and moves too close gets asphyxiated by his gas.

rural voters are....not happy...about trump starting a trade war with china.  he's costing them money...and these are people who literally worship the US dollar.  they even put their god on our cash, that's how much they love wealth.  And trump just cost them billions.
