Yes, let's buy software from a dude who used to work for the NSA but goes on dates in Moscow these days, sounds really legit.

/also really amusing he thinks a proper physical access compromise would even need or bother to open the lid of a laptop first

At least not the use case he's talking about; an evil maid or rude houseguest. These are the kind of casual security problems that would be stopped by some good security hygiene. Not everything needs to be secure to MI5 levels.

Or you could just SHUTDOWN your computer when you are leaving it somewhere. It's not that hard.
