she's making a list,
selling it twice ...

Reading the Intercept you wouldn't know that this is so insanely common that it normally doesn't even rate a publication wasting the resources to report it.

Well I'm sure her emails have something to do with this!

If they are paying that for it it's because they think it's worth it.

vpb: If they are paying that for it it's because they think it's worth it.

Ya, well it's actually because they paid for a bunch of copies of her book "Why Me" that no one else bought to prop up it's rating on Amazon

vpb: If they are paying that for it it's because they think it's worth it.

Nah, they must be overpaying because they want to curry favor with her since she's so influential now.

It's whataboutism for PACs paying Trumps lawyer fees.

And his kids lawyer fees.

Obsma's PAC rented their email list for $1 million a year.  Meh.

2018-04-25 06:25:03 PM
Buying and selling donor list is a common practice. Both sides do it.

Damn you Obsma!

2018-04-25 06:25:19 PM
Oh look, shiat article.

2018-04-25 06:25:44 PM
You'd think they would want to buy Bernie's donor list since he pulled in far more money than Hillary did from less wealthy donors.

2018-04-25 06:26:04 PM
The Democratic National Committee is paying $1.65 million for access to the email list, voter data, and software produced by Hillary for America during the 2016 presidential campaign,

Wow subby have your head up your ass much? Yes the DNC uses money to try to win elections!! Is that a something new to you?

2018-04-25 06:26:21 PM
Buying and selling donor lists is common practice. It's one of the pays they help pay down campaign debt. Both sides do it.

2018-04-25 06:26:25 PM
And?  Only a complete dumbass would claim that information has no value.  Of course, these same people will stick up for the Trump administration paying for CamAnal's services.

2018-04-25 06:26:40 PM

Fart_Machine: Obsma's PAC rented their email list for $1 million a year.  Meh.

That must be Hillary's fault too!!!!

2018-04-25 06:26:48 PM
she needs the money.  her speaking fees have dropped and nobody is donating to Clinton Foundation Inc.

2018-04-25 06:26:59 PM
How much did she give the DNC in '16?*

*a hell of a lot more than 2 mil

2018-04-25 06:27:46 PM
#1: The DNC is not broke
#2: $2 million for a national political party is practically nothing
#3: This is so innocuous as to be totally unworthy of attention

2018-04-25 06:28:30 PM

colon_pow: she needs the money.  her speaking fees have dropped and nobody is donating to Clinton Foundation Inc.

She doesn't make money from the Clinton Foundation. She doesn't even get a salary from it.

Thanks, Obsma!

I'm gonna assume, from the other comments, that I need not click on this stupid shiat and this is more "What about Hillary" horseshiat from some asshole with mommy issues?

WHY WON'T SHE JUST GO AWAY!!!!?????

DESPITE OBAMA'S WILLINGNESS to gift the DNC with his email list, he is not seen as a savior within the building. After he was elected in 2008, he turned his campaign organization, Organizing for Action, into a parallel DNC, starving the real one of funds. During that time, if a party committee such as the DCCC wanted access to OFA, it had to rent it. When he finally turned the OFA list over to the DNC in 2015, it had been battered like a rental car, and the organization was a shell of itself, mismanaged and neglected to the brink of insolvency.

Jeez, I can't imagine why Obama didn't want to sink money and effort in to that.

The DNC chose to make themselves a speedbump for Obama's agenda so he simply put on some fat tires and rolled over them.

2018-04-25 06:32:14 PM
"The DNC has taken out $1,700,000 in loans since January 2017, roughly equal to the amount it owes the Clinton campaign, bringing its debt burden to $6.6 million with just $10,093,347 cash on hand."

"Broke".  For Frith's sake that's $3.5m after the debt and they have invested in access to a huge list of potential donors, not to mention it is April in a mid term election year.

2018-04-25 06:32:24 PM
If the Democratic Party and Onward Together are presumably working towards the same goals, why would they not simply share resources?

2018-04-25 06:32:56 PM
But her email list?

2018-04-25 06:33:25 PM
Once again proving that Obama was much more honorable than Hillary

GoldSpider: If the Democratic Party and Onward Together are presumably working towards the same goals, why would they not simply share resources?

Because in all likelihood Onward Together had the goal of electing Hillary Clinton and the DNC no longer is willing take that gamble?

She's a witch!

Burn her!

They are sharing resources and the costs.

How many donors on Hillary's list are going to not already be on some list the DNC already has control over? They'll probably get 3-4 new email address that aren't already duplicated elsewhere.

It's more than just names and email addresses.

Without that money to buy friends she wouldn't be as influential

Is that legal? Serious question. Presumably it would be an in-kind donation if they just gave it away.

2018-04-25 06:47:09 PM
This just in: people who run for office are never doing it for you. Just for themselves.

The Republicans are running against Hillary. It's going to be a tight race. Of course this is newsworthy.

"Clinton is legally entitled to rent her list to the party, rather than hand it over as a gift, but in 2015, Barack Obama gave his email list, valued at $1,942,640, to the DNC as an in-kind contribution. In 2013 and 2014, OFA had similarly made in-kind contributions exceeding $3.4 million for uses of the list that cycle."

I don't get the impression from that that it's illegal.

Are you challenging any of the facts presented in the article?

THIS MEANS SOMETHING! DON'T LET MY "FRIENDS" ON FACEBOOK WHO ARE STILL POSTING ANTI-HILLARY BULLshiat THAT NO ONE ELSE CARES ABOUT SEE IT OR ELSE SHE'LL BE DONE FORE SURE!

Tired of this bullshiat. Legal act is legal.

Everybody is allowed to earn money, but Hillary is apparently the exception.

I'd imagine so, yeah. As far as I am aware, the only thing that you can give to a campaign for free, without it counting as an in-kind donation, is your own time.

mofa: Tired of this bullshiat. Legal act is legal.

And in this particular case Hillary will make $0.00.

2018-04-25 06:53:28 PM

foo monkey: It's whataboutism for PACs paying Trumps lawyer fees.

The RNC stopped paying for Trump's Russia defense fund around the time it started paying Trump rent. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/23/rnc-paid-trump-campaign-trump-tower-rent-after-paying-legal-bills.html

"The payments include more than $37,000 a month in rent to President Donald Trump's company, and thousands more in salary to Vice President Mike Pence's nephew, John Pence ... The payments started abruptly last September [2017], when the RNC came under pressure to stop paying Trump's personal legal bills in the special counsel's Russia investigation."

So for proper whataboutism, we'll need to know when the DNC stopped paying into Hillary's Uranium One defense fund.

That's because in spite of the hype around it, the Intercept is the new Vice, and it's just as much trash as Vice was.
