Hmmm.

*strokes beard*

Is that a week day?

I hope to see everyone from the last party there - we had a great time in Seattle, let's go paint Issaquah red!

And IMHO, Rogue is one of the finest breweries out there - and that's saying something in Western Washington. Thank you to tawnos for the great idea to have a Fark Party in a brewery. I mean, really. Where else would it be?

Looking forward to it!

It's possible, then. Issaquah is a little bit of a drive for me, but might be OK.

Wish I had the money to fly out there, or the time, because I would love a party in a Rogue brewery.

Nope, used to be the Issaquah Brewhouse, purchased by Rogue in 2000.

They also do some great distilling. We hope to see you there, especially you AverageAmericanGuy, who have begged for this event to happen in the past.

I can't make it. I head back to Japan September 3.

While it might not, from all outward appearances, be the most parentally responsible thing to take your kid to a brewery, the Issaquah Brewhouse is hardly kid-unfriendly.

fark Rogue. A couple of their beers are drinkable, but that company is horribly mismanaged. A brewery....founded by...wait for it....lawyers. Doing it wrong much? It's too bad John Maier got caught up with a bunch of assholes, because he's a really cool guy. I know that's probably not enough to get you Farkers riled up though, so how about this:

Employee beer benefits consist of 10 PINTS A MONTH. TEN. That's it, and that's sad!

/not bitter
//well-balanced with notes of caramel and citrus

I'm kind of torn. I'm still thinking about it, but between the train and a hotel it's sounding a bit pricey, but if I can avoid cab fares maybe I could make it happen...

I probably should, I don't think I've left Portland's city limits since about May.

Personally I'm not worried about the Brewery persay...... they are usually fine for kids and have great burgers. ;)

But this is another farker who has a kiddo (8yrs) and would like to make it. However, I don't want other farkers to feel like they have to tone down the revelry just for my kiddo though.

Can we get shout out there? Do we want to make it kid/family friendly or should we just plan to find babysitters? I'm good either way.

/glad you're not charging $70/head like my high school reunion. Blargh.

Will the buses be running to/from there on a Saturday night? Or will they get you out there and is there a Motel 6 or something cheap to stay the night out there?

It's nothing against Issaquah, it's just that as someone from out of town it seems like a pain in the ass place to get to/from.

Not to mention the police station is like, two blocks from the brewery and if you're dumb enough to drive drunk in old town Issy you probably get whatever you deserve.

I do love me some Rogue as an Oregon transplant, so hmm. Not like driving from Bellevue is really that far.

Slam1263: AverageAmericanGuy: Just scoped out the place from across the street at Jak's Grill. Everything looks great!

Is that not the LOUDEST eating establishment you have ever been in? I think Jak's pumps in noise for some reason. It's worse than Maggiano's at Lincoln center.

Great food though.

Funny, that's what one of the people I was having dinner with mentioned as well. I don't have deep recollections of the place from 12 years ago when I first started going there, but so much else about the restaurant has changed, I can totally believe they amped up the music to make their bar more attractive.

Also, prices are much higher than they were a decade ago. I guess they realized the food was as good or better than Daniel's in Bellevue and priced accordingly.

The cowboy ribeye was delicious. Calamari too, but a bit too skimpy, if you ask me.

I'll be over here crying in my beer. The Issaquah Brewhouse in just one of the many things I miss from when I lived there. And their food is good enough that even my kids loved going there where they could take in the sights and aromas etched by many decades of beer swilling and spilling.

I was at the Mission when they first opened, largely pregnant with my daughter. They showed old films in those days. Alfred Hitchcock FTW.
McMenamins would be happy to help put together a party. Kennedey School might be a better choice.

If we do though could it please please PLEASE not be at a McMenamins. They are awful bars and the staff is so unpleasant. The company treats their staff like shiat and it really filters down to the customer level. They have some awesome locations but i hate going inside. Every farking travel guide is all "derp derp derp, McMenamins is teh kewl" so whenever someone visits us they alwasy ask to go to one and I have to pop their bubble. That said, I'm not sure where to have it though, Horse Brass or something? Maybe The Alabi on Interstate? Drunken Farker karaoke might be fun. I agree about McMenamins. I know bar owners in NW and SW, but those are a little far from transit. The Alibi is sometimes amusing, or there's always Grand Central.

Or we could do a Sellwood deal starting or ending with a Rose City Rollers bout.

CSB time!

I'm from Newport, where Rogue is made.
(If there are any Farkers also from the Noops, I probably know you.)

When I lived there me and my buddies used to frequent the Bayfront Brewery and on one particular weeknight when we were all getting properly faded John, the then owner of Rogue Ales, was sitting with us at the bar and remarked:

"You guys are all local kids, right?"

"Yeah."

"Why don't you have any Rogue gear on?"

"..."

"Okay, go over to the merch corner and pick out whatever you want."

To this very day I still have the green Rogue hoodie with the original logo on it from that night.

Larry the Cable Guy doesn't seem to be into the whole "give AAG the bird" thing, but I'm totally feeling the hate from the hottie on the left.

Lots of attractive Seattle Farkers. Wish I was there.

Except for the inevitable cockpunching.

Which you deserve, for telling us you were buying a round and not calling in your card, you Farker.

And, looking at the thread in portrait mode on my iPad, it's right-side-up, too. So Nyah. Buy an iPad you cheap Farkers.

Yeah - I think I did hear that somewhere. I'm sure Apple is as concerned about it as they are about the Zune.
