I think golf cart races should be used to settle disputes of foreign policy.

2004-06-09 06:30:59 PM
So what's on the agenda this year? Aids? Poverty? I heard it was asking for more help in Iraq. That's pretty rude.

2004-06-09 06:31:50 PM
good lord, that's an ugly vehicle...

/wouldn't be caught dead in one

2004-06-09 06:33:26 PM
So now the G8 can unlock the 4th car at Sunshine Autos?

2004-06-09 06:35:15 PM

I'd PS it up a litte, but I'm outta here in 20 minutes

2004-06-09 06:35:43 PM
Nah Popple, they still need the baggage car and Mr. Whoopee.

2004-06-09 06:35:49 PM
Here is the car, it is made in Fargo, North Dakota.

I guess Chirac's would be easy to spot, if they are all painted the "national colors". His has to be all yellow.....

2004-06-09 06:39:25 PM
If anybody's interested, here are some pictures I took around Brunswick and St. Simons yesterday.

All in all, it's been kinda neat, but the protesters have been surprisingly underwhelming.

Here's 'The Fleet'.

2004-06-09 06:39:44 PM
Got to love the Ricer headlines today!

2004-06-09 06:40:02 PM
Haha, I loved the second half of that article. France's president is such a tightass he wore business formal instead of kickin' back casual like everyone else was. Maybe he thought he was going to sign a surrender or something.

2004-06-09 06:40:08 PM
There is a city in Florida that mainly has these for transportation... it's near Orlando... just a little south. Its like something out of an old futuristic movie.

2004-06-09 06:41:23 PM
Heh, My sister and her husband are part of the police protection for this event. They said it's been boring as hell.

2004-06-09 06:42:36 PM
Alright, who got booted out so that Iraq could become the eighth member of the G8?

2004-06-09 06:43:54 PM
Gotta have the NOS sticker, huge wing on the back, and hand cut springs to be a real ricer. All show, no go.

2004-06-09 06:44:06 PM
It would be awesome to see a movie chase in these. The President and hot babe fleeing a pack of grim terrorists, all of them in these carts, and then the Secret Service guys in carts close in and start doing hand-to-hand combat, jumping from cart to cart and stuff.

So, because they've been modified in any way that makes them "riced out"? They weren't made in Japan, and apparently have no aftermarket modification (except maybe the paint).

Congratulations, jackass!

2004-06-09 06:49:56 PM
Now that's what I call bad taste.

2004-06-09 06:52:51 PM
ricer = its a joke, lighten up.

2004-06-09 06:54:42 PM
"Be careful, I'm driving," Bush shouted to a group of pedestrians.
...
'k

2004-06-09 06:58:27 PM
"Be careful, I'm the president."- Bush

2004-06-09 07:00:20 PM
Yeah... they run on ELECTRICITY!

Not RICE! Dumb arses!!

In any case... I bet those farkers are getting loaded right about now.

2004-06-09 07:00:26 PM
The maintenance people at Manhattan College use these things. They are /wack/.

:)

Headline writer needs to know when to use the colon instead of the semi-colon.

2004-06-09 07:04:16 PM
My uni has real golf carts with gas engines. No pansy-ass electric ones here!

2004-06-09 07:04:29 PM
Would someone like to explain the term "ricer" to some of the clueless farkers. I've had to explained it too many times in the last couple days.

2004-06-09 07:04:40 PM
Stupid Paul Martin. He should have opted to walk. He knowns better.

2004-06-09 07:05:06 PM
"protesters have been surprisingly underwhelming."

They are restricted to the mainland, no?

2004-06-09 07:07:24 PM
All in all, it's been kinda neat, but the protesters have been surprisingly underwhelming.

That's 'cause everyone's terrified of getting their ass shipped to Guantanemo.

2004-06-09 07:13:42 PM
Bah, they got nuthin' on these.

2004-06-09 07:13:48 PM
Does anyone else see a problem with this? Depending on how many were alotted to each delegation these things cost between $72000 and $288,000 (assuming up to 3 'top aids' per country). Wouldn't it be a wiser investment to spend the money on AIDS research, feeding the poor or hell, even buying some extra flac jackets for some underequiped soldiers - depending on your political stripe. These people are supposed to be representing OUR interests on a global stage, not zipping around in cracked out bumpercars on our tab.

2004-06-09 07:14:59 PM
The first thing I thought of when I read that article was "I would not want to drive in a golf cart with that man at the wheel." Not because I'm a democrat leftist pinko commie, but because I don't trust anyone from Texas.

http://www.gemtown.com/ - interesting... let's dig.

http://www.gemtown.com/celebration.html - Celebration provides us with a look into the New Urbanism; it is a designer town developed by Disney.
evil.

http://www.gemtown.com/playa_vista.html - Playa Vista is a bold new community development initiative within Los Angeles.
Playa?!

http://www.gemtown.com/otay_ranch.html - Otay Ranch, located in Chula Vista, California, in the San Diego area, 6 miles from the U.S./Mexico border is the largest master planned California community in the process of build out.
Otay??!! Master PLANned????!

Wow, the G-8 finally catches up with Hippieville, USA!

I was driving these all over our little Nor-Cal "Nuclear Free Zone" town three years ago when our electric-vehicle company decided they were the next cool thing... gotta admit, they're fun as hell in a small town.

One year later, the company was bankrupt, and I got the hell out when they decided to merge with a used-car dealership...

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=riced+out&f=1

riced out

To define ones small Japanese car (usually Honda). Characteristics include a coffee can sized exhaust pipe, a rear spoiler the size of a 747's wing, neon lights in various places including the forementioned "coffee can" and racing stickers.

Nice friggin riced out Accord you stupid freak.

The town is called Celebration and it's one of the scariest places on earth.

Correction Notice:

"Be careful, I'm driving," Bush shouted to a group of pedestrians.

Should have read:

"Be careful, I'm an insane imperialist jackass," Bush shouted to the three naked brown men he was dragging behind his cart on leashes.

Associated Press apologizes for the error. Hey, at least we don't just make shiat up, like certain other news sources.

2004-06-09 07:29:14 PM
> Befitting the resort setting, Bush set a casual tone with his blue knit shirt.

I read that as "...his blue knit skirt" and promptly lost my mouthful of chicken to the keyboard!

2004-06-09 07:29:37 PM
Yeah, the security is out there. They've all been really cool, though. The only thing I've heard happen is that the protesters wanted to march across the causeway to St. Simons, which is currently closed to foot traffic and bikes.
