Looks to me like a Larry King cloning gone wrong.
2004-06-09 01:00:08 PM
I'd hit it
2004-06-09 01:01:06 PM
I'm run away from mikemir

I see Randy Johnson has a new baby.

actually, that thing's pretty damn cute somehow..

True, it almost has an intelligent look, and it's waving at us.

Still, best use of the 'ugly ass baby' cliche I've ever seen.
2004-06-09 01:24:28 PM
Also, one of the funniest uses of the 'I'd hit it' cliche I've seen.

You sick bastard.

Whoa, I didn't know wombats existed outside of Ska songs. (WTF do they do anyway?)
2004-06-09 05:59:55 PM
Harelipped little farker, ain't it
2004-06-09 08:39:06 PM
heh, i thought it read 'ugly-ass woman born in sydney zoo.'
2004-06-09 08:46:29 PM
esme - Sadly, I did too.
2004-06-09 08:49:09 PM
Please little wombat, stop waving at me.

Eerily humanoid - shorten the snout and you've got a long-fingernailed, harelipped, wall-eyed human.
2004-06-09 08:49:40 PM
I used to bullseye those in my T-16 back home.
2004-06-09 08:49:58 PM
God made almost every baby animal cute. I guess this is proof that God hates wombats.

This thing looks like it should be popping through someone's chest in a spurting fountain of gore and killing the crew one by one.
2004-06-09 08:52:18 PM
Note to self: Remember that "ugly-ass" actually means freakishly hideous.
2004-06-09 08:56:11 PM
How come Fb- isn't the father anymore?
2004-06-09 08:57:09 PM
Awww. Jeffy, I think it's cute. If you want to talk about a creature tht looks like it should be hunted down by Ripley, try a baby human. They're all creepy with their big heads and shiat.
2004-06-09 09:01:00 PM
emilykp, I'm with ya. Kittens - cute. Puppies - cute. Heck even baby vampire bats are cute. Baby humans? Yech. Ugly, loud, smelly.

For some reason that wombat freaks me out as much as a human baby though.
2004-06-09 09:02:12 PM
CaptainWes Fb- says he dosn't do marsupials.
2004-06-09 09:04:47 PM
Aw Jeez, I can see a PS thread and possibly a new Fark cliche coming up from this pic.

Cute little Farker, ain't it.
2004-06-09 09:05:30 PM
Anyone else notice the dirty fingernails on the zoo-keeper's hands. Ugh The finger on the Wombat's left shoulder.

Strangely, I had an urge to touch the screen to see if the baby wombat feels like those hairless cats:

all the scary, freaky creatures in the movies have got nuthin' on good old mother nature
2004-06-09 09:06:56 PM
You can tell he's a Farker. Look what his right paw is reaching for.

Is that a little wombat weiner?
2004-06-09 09:08:16 PM
Beware the dire wombats!!!

Is anyone here from Australia? What is it like to live among the world's most dangerous fauna? And weirdest. And can't those extremely poisonous funnel spiders live on the bottom of pools?
2004-06-09 09:14:49 PM
Looks like my uncle charlie after about twenty beers
2004-06-09 09:17:48 PM
Awwww, he's waving! He's so ugly he's cute, in an ugly way.

/You had me at hello, baby wombat
2004-06-09 09:23:46 PM
Somehow it reminds me of Pierre Trudeau..
Would be better if it was giving the one-finger salute!
2004-06-09 09:24:18 PM
Wombat: "Our armies are ready. Soon it will be time to strike back at the humans in the overworld."
2004-06-09 09:25:03 PM
Somebody shoot the submitter. Twice. Once for whoring out the cute baby animal post with the "ugly-ass" thrown in, and again for trying to be witty by borrowing the "here comes the science" cliche.

/you make me want to vomit.

Did somebody say runt cub? I thought I heard runt cub...

2004-06-09 09:28:39 PM
Wow. Looks like baby wombats tend to be friendly little critters that like to wave hello to the world. Or something.

I, for one, welcome our new wombat overlords.

dafeman - let go of the mouse and step away from the computer. Keep your hands where we can see them.
2004-06-09 10:07:18 PM
I think he is just precious. Of course I'm a mom, we have the unique ability to look at our newborns and see beauty. But, yes, he does have quite the hairlip :)
2004-06-09 10:12:20 PM
mmmmm wombat souvlaki
2004-06-09 10:15:59 PM
Actually, this was not born in the zoo, nor is it a baby.

I quote from the Chicago Sun-Times:

"Cherry, a 4-month-old wombat,is living at an Australian zoo after being rescued. A driver spotted her mother dead on the road, but stuck his hand in her pouch to discover Cherry."
2004-06-09 10:21:13 PM
Oh my god, how cute!
2004-06-09 10:21:41 PM
I'd pet it.
2004-06-09 10:23:57 PM
Isn't anybody going to comment on the phrase "stuck his hand in her pouch to discover Cherry"?
2004-06-09 10:26:02 PM
Yeah, I've been busy...
