High heels, along with foot binding, are some of the dumbest things men have come up with to make women more "sexy"

2018-01-13 09:04:20 PM
30 plus years ago, a friend, conservative Christian,  referred to her high heels as her "come fark me shoes."

So I think that thesis is pretty far off.

People like to fark.
It's natural.
People like to fark attractive people.
People they are attracted to.

People that take issue with the facts, well, we all know what they are.

Me, I'm a 62 year old man, and I'll tell you what. A lot if women have told me I look better in heels.

Enjoy that thought.

Feminism is now seeking to deny reality in a new way today.  No wonder why these folks are a laughingstock.

They say an arched back may suggest 'openness to mating advances.'

That, or scoliosis.

The 30+ years ago is a factor there, and my understanding of the CFM's back in the day, was to do with altitude. A 3" heal was not nearly in the same league as a 4" or 5".

Quit wearing heels. It's stupid and you're ruining your health.

I used to sell women's shoes in New Orleans. One of my regulars was a badass drag queen who loved J.Renee shoes, mainly because they were some of the few readily available large-size option shoes. Most of them were fairly hideous old-lady-church-shoes (they all had a coordinating handbag option, of course). Anyway, turns out we were the same size, and she had me throw a pair on one day after I had mentioned not knowing how the hell people wore them. Damn near broke my ankle, and it couldn't have been more than 4 inches.

I still don't know how the hell people walk around day-to-day in heels.

/I saw things there you wouldn't believe.

The butt and back arch effect are real.  Look how just about every female animal signals readiness to mate:

If you doubt this is true, then I challenge you to get on your hands and knees.  Arch you back up and you will feel your butthole tighten up (everyone on the internet is a dude, but if you are a lady the same thing happens to your female bits).  Put your stomach as low as it goes and you will feel your butthole open up.

It really shouldn't be hard to understand.  Stomach arched forward = exposed female bits = female signaling she wants a male to put their member into the bits

Maybe it is because I don't have much of a sex drive, but I always thought high heels were the most stupid thing ever. Why would women submit themselves to this torture? Why not just collectively agree to stop that nonsense?

"I doubt any woman has ever put on a pair of heels thinking 'I want to show them I'm ready for sex'," she added.

Is that using a broad womyn brush...

A study claims it's because it 'signals they are ready for sex' - but its authors have been slammed by Coronation Street actress Nicola Thorp as its message "appropriates rape culture"

Oh ffs, if you're going to go full SJW on something, at least understand the difference between the concepts of "cultural appropriation" and "rape culture."

"Appropriating rape culture" -- what the f*ck does that even mean?

Isn't the prevailing theory that women primp to impress/compete with other women, not so much to impress the dudes?

This is a very strange question to ask because I am supposedly a womens, but often feel I am not one at all, yet am not a dude nor do I wish to be one.

Yeah.

This horror and rejection of sexuality has gone too far. PEOPLE ARE HARD WIRED TO WANT TO FARK. Deal with it, better yet learn to enjoy it FFS

As an early-1970s state-school undergrad, it was a salacious term thrown around our (men's) dorm regularly (which is not to say that any wearers of said footwear showed any interest in us, ever). I do remember, on summer jobs, some blue-collar-secretary types sometimes using it in joking terms in the mid/late 70s, disco days, also.

I believe heels were originally worn by men as they helped keep your feet in the stirrups while riding, then became a fashion thing and finally were adopted by women's fashion.

2018-01-14 02:06:44 AM
I recall reading somewhere that high heels also made women walk with shorter, more tenuous steps, thus making them look more fragile, which the author stated elicits a protector response in men and heightens their interest. It seemed odd to me, as usually displays of weakness in nature elicit a predator response not a protector response (which is generally brought about by cuteness and baby features like oversized heads, large expressive eyes, etc.).

Girls where I live wear pumps like it's part of the uniform. It does make their legs and posteriors look quite attractive, so I ain't complaining.

2018-01-14 02:26:12 AM
In these parts, high heels are sometimes referred to as CFM shoes.  As in Come Fark Me shoes.  I first heard that expression years ago in a local shoe store located near campus of a women's college.

WUT? Last I checked women were people, this was the 21st century, and they could make up their own minds about what was "sexy". No one is forcing women to wear what they choose to wear. Also, men were first to wear high heels as fashion.

Women certainly weren't being made to wear them for safety and comfort.

High heels hitch up the butt and provide the appearance of longer legs.

They also make it much harder for the wearer to run away from that which is chasing them.

Louis XIV invented high heels.  You can say it was for riding horses--that makes sense.  Cowboy boots serve the same purpose.
I think it was also to all height, what with the women all wearing those towering wigs.
Could give a guy a complex.

You mean they were appropriated by women. And then, rape culture appropriated them...

As it happens, I have conducted extensive research on this matter by watching a lot of Saturday morning creature features in my youth. High heels make it easier for a woman to fall down while running away from the monster, thus creating the opportunity for a man to be all heroic and save her. Something something patriarchy something John Agar.

/never wears heels

I have worn heels for spirit week in high school for powder puff games (girls play football, guys dress as cheerleaders)

yea, they are not the easiest things to walk in, god forbid on brick walks or cobble stones.  good god.

2018-01-14 01:08:49 PM
I've never found high heals to be attractive on a woman. Quite honestly, I think they look ridiculous in them. They're difficult to walk in and look uncomfortable at best, and downright painful most often.

2018-01-14 01:19:36 PM
From what I have been told, women are forced to wear high heels, and hate them.

When you hear a lady (or man, I suppose) complaining about their heels killing their feet, ask them why they wear them. Their answers might surprise you.

I usually respond that none of my friends ever mention a woman's shoes - except for Creepy Gerald the pump-licker. My helpful advice is rarely taken kindly.

Certain things like what exactly? I'm of the opinion that either the person is sexy, and it then doesn't even matter what they wear, or they aren't, in which case apparel isn't going to help. That's possibly just me, but just try thinking of the least attractive person you know, and then imagining any outfit that might transform them into 'sexy'.

I think the first time I read this kinda study, 30+ years ago, it was wildlife biologists.  They were saying that high heels mimicked what they called "presenting behavior" in nature.  Raises the genitalia and makes them, well, more "presentable" I guess...Still doesn't explain platform heels on dudes in the '70s.

2018-01-14 07:39:53 PM
I'm not exactly the most feminine delicate creature of my gender, but I like heels because I like heels, not because I'm D to F. Putting on heels always makes me feel like Imma go out and kick some serious ass, but that's because I wear thick heels (because I'm a klutz and never really learned to balance on pinpoints). For those guys who've tried on women's heels and teetered all over the place, it's probably because your gf/wife/friend was wearing stilettos or something similar that they'd spent years growing used to. A good chunky heel feels pretty reliable underfoot.

I still can't believe there are jobs out there where heels are part of the uniform. That boggles my mind.
