this was a strangely quiet event.

Nobody seems to have anything beyond "quit abruptly" and "escorted from the building". We could start the rumor that Trump was beginning to find her to be an embarrassment.

2018-01-13 02:27:03 AM
I wonder if she suddenly realized her boss was a scummy sex weasel, and said something as the news came out about him banging pornstars by the bushel

She read somewhere that 9 month was the length of term.

So Teresa Manning doesn't make it to term at HHS after Valerie Huber exercises her right to choose policy on women's bodies?

There wasn't time.

I'll lay 3-1 odds that somebody at WaPo found her abortion records and can't say sh*t because of HIPAA.

Any takers?

yeah, but hypocrisy isn't a deal breaker with trumpers, evangelicals OR the pro lifers.

Additionally, the revolving door that is the appointees in this administration would be a lot more funny if the career people weren't leaving in droves, too.

No, that would just give her an opportunity to say that that is how she KNOWS how terrible it is, blah blah. I'm guessing it's about being outed as a lesbian.

Paragraph 3: "HHS is very grateful for her service," HHS spokesperson told Politico. "Her departure after resignation was not unusual in any way."

Because the government telling people that random quiet firings on a friday of senior administration officials is NEVER unusual at all under ANY circumstances, right?

Someone like her does not give up this nob easily.  She is a fanatic on an issue Trump doesn't care about.  And Pence agrees with her.

She was forced out for reasons.  Will be discovered eventually.

Since I have never had to be escorted out of any of my previous places of employment, I naively considered that to be an unusual circumstance. Silly of me, I guess.

its actually fairly typical for anyone who's been fired that holds any sort of special security clearance.  you get escorted off campus by armed security.

Heck, I worked for a local printing company for a few weeks.. when they decided they didn't have enough work for everyone, I got escorted out.  The frozen dinner I'd brought got left in their lunchroom freezer.

when my old employer fired their IT department, they didn't let us into the building.  they had security escort us to a side room, then stand over us the whole time, and walk us each to our vehicles one at a time after our exit interviews.  at no point were we left alone.

Escorted from the building NOT in chains will eventually be seen as unusual for this administration.

Exactly the same thing happened to me at the Stock Exchange in the 1990s after the collapse of the Taurus project. We were taken out to lunch, then on return allowed in to the building, accompanied at all times, just to clear our desks before having timesheets signed and then being escorted out of the building again.

They were probably thinking, "Okay, the network's working now. If we fire all the IT nerds they can't break it anymore!"

3 weeks prior to the mass lay offs, I'd moved my production script source code to my personal libraries and network share drives.  wanna guess what's the first thing HR does when they fire someone?  yup.  delete those directories.

I understand there was considerable difficulties for the outsource company when all my code got deleted by HR.

my old company STILL hadn't patched the vulnerabilities I'd identified in their network until about 5 months or so after I'd be gone.  were I of the malicious sort, I probably could have done some serious damage...but prison orange isn't my color ya know?

It's actually standard procedure in lots of places, just to make sure the recently-fired don't do something vindictive

They are denials back and forth between she was fired or quit and she was escorted out and wasn't. But politico says her name was off the agency's website on Friday. I've worked government and been a webmaster for some of agency pages...  no way anyone gets pulled from the website on real time like that unless they got fired. The person updating the website was told to drop everything to do that one update.

2018-01-13 08:56:28 AM
I've never seen someone who willingly resigned on good terms escorted by security. And generally, amicable resignations have an effective date that's not the same day.  I've seen people escorted out, though - when fired or laid off...

Wapo would not be restricted by HIPAA.  Only the medical professionals that actually had her information would have to abide by it.
