brantgoose: One thing I love about Terry Pratchett's novel is the nicknames Trolls have.

Detritus (a cop). Breccia (a mob name).

Those are their names, not nicknames and like all trolls on the Discworld they are named after types of rock, since they are living rock. Nothing to do with the mob.

Google comes back with: Did you mean: Eugene "Boopsie" Castelle
So I think this article is actually a typo.

eyeq360: Members of the Mafia have a dark sense of humor and the nicknames reflect that sense of humor. Sort of like how the biggest, scariest, jacked-up guy is nicknamed "Tiny." It's likely the guys with the innocent sounding nicknames are the ones who are stone cold killers or the ones who killed a guy in a gruesome way.

Their leader is 'Vinny Gorgeous'.

Fano: August11: Fano: August11: I'm married into a family of old Irish bookies and smart guys. In my experience, the sillier the nickname, the more serious the character. Two of the most intimidating fellows I've met: "Sidewalk" and "Ladle."

Aiken Drum?

I don't think from the song, no. I think he put someone in the hospital with a ladle.

A ladle?

Knocked him supine.

Man, that guy looks like a really rough AJ Soprano.  But nobody looks good in a mugshot.

brantgoose: My Indian name is nearly the same as my real name and my screen name. You can not improve on perfection. You also can not make nicknames out of a name like mine. The only way to do so is to lengthen rather than shorten the name.

That is why some dicks and some well-meaning friends have called me Brantford or Brantley.

Famous Indian Brants include Chief Joseph Brant, his powerful sister in the Women's Council, Mary Brant, and the country singer, Paul Brant, although I am not quite sure if he is a native or not.

If I were a villain I could call myself Black Brant, after the missile of the same name rather than the bird.

Sorry to break it to you, but "Brant" is the sort of name that George Carlin would make fun of.

winedrinkingman: Marcus Aurelius: Eugene "Boobsie" Castelle was allegedly on loan from the Lucchese crime family

I thought they only did that in soccer.

I have a feeling that the guy "on loan to" is there to be murdered by the other crime family, should shenanigans go down on the business deal.

Ive read that the Bonanno family was so weakened by war and the feds that other stronger families openly co-opted their leadership. thats not to say that members of the different families dont do business with eachother anyway
