Twitter rewrote their rules to ensure that nothing he does is against their rules.

In doing so they made it much harder for any verified checkmarked user to break the rules, but especially so for the President.

A Twitter spokesperson said in a statement Tuesday night that Trump's North Korea tweets do not amount to a "specific threat," and thus do not warrant disciplinary action.

I think we need to maybe scale up what we consider a threat here.  Some nobody saying 'some day the man is going to get it and I aim to deliver goddammit!' or 'Biatch I will slap your shiat the next time I see you' has a different weight than the farking President of the United States having a nuclear dick swinging contest with a madman who somehow looks sane in comparison to him.

This is out of control, don't hide behind company policy when what is going on is obviously very farking dangerous.

How does one become a "spokesperson" anyway? I'm not asking for myself, it's more like Judd Nelson in The Breakfast Club asking how one becomes a high school janitor.

The Democrats have been up 2-0 for over 70 years in using nuclear weapons in anger and Trump is just looking for a reason to knock that smug look off their faces.

Funnily enough, they don't have many of those. In fact, they've managed to lose a remarkable number of them.

I think Trump was just confused and was referring to his Coke button.

Probably gets pissed when the Coke shows up and the news isn't covering all of the explosions.

So like, what would happen if Twitter and Facebook/Instagram did actually terminate his accounts? Waht if Google just said no, too?  What would he do? Would he suddenly dial it back and accept he's an asshole or would he just unleash nuclear hellfire in a tantrum?

Eventually we might get to the pint of asking that question, and I wonder if you don't cut the addict off early, will the addiction just get worse? I feel him having to wait to make a speech via conventional means is much safer for everyone than instantaneous thumb-diarrhea.

To be fair to Twitter, I don't think anybody could've predicted that one of the most powerful and influential men in the world would be a dangerously unhinged troll with an inexplicably large and fiercely loyal following. I mean, shame on them for not being courageous enough to kick him off of their platform after he retweeted a snuff film from a white nationalist group. . . but I can totally understand their cowardice in this case.

I'm not sure I want the president to stop tweeting. He might resort to other things to express his feel-feels.

Last time the pResident indulged in dick-swinging, it was shortly followed by planes flying into buildings.
We remember this incident as "9/11/01".

Not to say that the terrorist attack was wholly instigated by the pResident's dare to "Bring it on!" (this appears to have been long in the planning), but it did NOTHING to try to de-escalate a very fraught and delicate situation.

Pro-tip: Gentlemen (and other types of males), dicks are not the 'go-to' organ when it comes to critical thinking and diplomacy.

So, Twitter's official position is that it's not okay to threaten SOMEONE but it is okay to threaten EVERYONE.

Good to know Twitter is still a shiat site owned and operated by absolutely terrible people.

I used to support Trump having twitter because America should be reminded every day on what they voted into office, however, he now just uses it to further his fake reality game show life.  It really has no constructive purpose anymore, Mueller has his evidence and everyone knows what Trump is like.  I would love to see him banned at this point.

The worst part is that they rewrote their rules a long time after he was elected. So they deliberately chose to be cowards.

I'd be shocked if a single person with power in Twitter has seriously suggested even as much as a timeout for him.

That just isn't their style.
