So that's why gas prices took a sharp increase today.

I'm not worried. Trump's is bigger.

Never shout "BOMB CYCLONE" on a crowded east coast.

We get some kind of weather here nearly every day. Ayuh.

Bomb Cyclone should have been the name of a 90s rap supergroup.

Snowmageddon 2018!  Should I be worried?

The only concern I have is losing power. That means no heat, since I am in an apartment-style condo with electric stove, no generator, and no fireplace.

Oh, no those poor ppl have to experience weather...

Absolutely.  It's a well known fact that weather patterns that haven't even hit yet cause unknowable damage to petroleum refinery reserves and infrastructure that merit completely justified, non-profiteering, and totally not colluded price increases.

If you don't have enough food in your house to last 2 days at any given time, you're doing it wrong.  Those half-finished boxes of crackers or cans of Bruce's Yams from Thanksgiving can easily make a meal for a day until the snow melts the next afternoon.

My wife still tries to run out and buy milk, bread, and eggs when they predict snow, but we haven't purchased those items for the house in at least a year because they are foods we don't eat anymore.  For some reason the snow creates a hysteria down here.  Also, Sam's club carries 50 lb bags of white rice in the winter here because they know that if snow or ice is predicted, people who have never cooked rice at home will go buy the big bag just in case they need it.

...wait... today is Wednesday!  Gosh dang it, that's my usual grocery shopping day - I'm going to be surrounded by panicky morans while I'm just trying to pick up the regular haul.
*shakes fist at cloud*

I will go do some panic buys myself at the package store though - can never be too careful on that front.

We always have enough of everything to last a month, except fresh milk. My weekly shopping replenishes the pantry to stock levels ($11.43 yesterday). We could probably stretch things to two months.

I just sick of it being below freezing.  I'm in central MA and it hasn't gotten above freezing since Christmas day and hasn't gotten above 20 degrees in over a week now.  Lot's of people getting stranded with failed car batteries.  Saturday is supposed to be the coldest day yet with the temp not getting above 9 and the windchill well below zero.

Make sure you keep some blankets in your cars just in case.

For whatever stupid reason I was watching the Grammys in 1998.  That was a weird moment, especially Dylan looking over and appearing to give precisely zero farks about it.

In weather news, we're all battening down the hatches here (or not) for the giant (or not) snowstorm that is totally going to bury us all alive (or not).  Honestly, the thing I'm most terrified of is school cancellations.  I love my kids, but I'm getting frankly really tired of playing board games with them.

I have 4-wheel drive too and drive carefully in the snow when I have to and I've never gotten stranded.  But not everyone drives carefully in the snow.  Getting hit by someone not driving carefully is why I stay home during storms.

I swear every time it snows there are morans on the road that drive even faster thinking they can beat the snow home or something.

I've walked through waist deep snow to go out and get an Italian Beef, because I knew the place would be open, too. We don't get all worked up about a bit of snow in Chicago.

No you don't eat the 50 lb bag of rice... you use it to confuse your neighbors by pouring it on their lawn at night and calling them about the "snow" in the morning.

I'm too far west for this one, it looks like, but the Snow we had before Christmas we got about an inch where I am and it melted before 2pm. Snowmageddon took 2 days to melt only because it was 2 inches of ice instead of snow and that was the worst we had gotten here in 5 decades.

Between keeping at least 10 family size servings of various soups, chili, or lasagne in my freezer and dozens of cans of beans, chickpeas, crackers, seasonings, and condiments - I think I could make it at least 2 weeks without an issue as long as power and water stay on.
