Twitter is very HARSH to those who violate their policies.
If you keep doing it, they might remove the little checkmark by your name after several months/years.

It keeps trying to delete their single largest account.

Twitter also temporarly banned an elected nazi coont from Germany. She is crying censorship, police state, ect and how can they do this if no court verdict has been handed down that her hate speech is hat speech.

Then she posted her rhetoric to facebook to see if they were also against free speech and it was deleted there too.

And now she is being investigated over her hate speech.

/would get a cabinet position under Trump except she looks like you expect a hatefilled nazi coont to look

Oh those silly people, going to a website that protects obvious Nazi troll accounts whilst banning anyone who points out that the 'different opinions' poster is a Nazi and an admitted troll.

Twitter? What kind of self-respecting professional even uses that? Oh right.

A bit "on the nose", actually. Like saying Reddit is a place that nurtures the self-absorbed, where one finds people who permanently block them for saying the world doesn't revolve around them.

I really like Twitter but the moderation of it is AWFUL. It doesn't crack down hard enough on bots, or trolls, or legitimate complaints. In fact the bots and trolls often game the system by logging false complaints to remove people they don't want to be there.

There is no catch-all solution to fix these issues, but there is a lot Twitter could do to reduce the situation. Putting hard limits on newbie accounts (e.g. the number of people they may follow, tweet, dm, report), and inserting captchas and using IP address / browser / MAC info they'd slash bot activity overnight. And exploy actual humans to examine abuse reports based on merit. I'm sure there would be residual activity it would not be endemic.

A society that values "speech" over truth is a society that will be built on lies.

\and a society that considers the spending of money to be speech is a society where only the wealthy have a say

It's true.  That was an actual screen shot of a now deactivated Twitter account that was formerly one of the most high profile and active "Antifa" accounts on Twitter, and regularly spouted lots of far left propaganda. . . before it accidentally turned on geolocation and revealed it was posting from Vladivostok.

Bookmarked. I have a short story or novella starting to swirl around my noggin with a countertroll like Yair Rozenberg as a protagonist. I would appreciate any interesting research leads if anyone knows any off hand. Rozenberg's original NYT op-ed is excellent btw.

I have said for years that if something on the Internet or TV seems to too-perfectly support right-wing notions about the world, you can safely bet that it's an intentional lie by someone who knows that conservatives are gullible.  This has never been more true or more obvious than it is now.  Russia went looking for our weak spot and the meeting went something like this:

PUTIN: "Where is American weakest spot?"
FLUNKY: "Well, they have one big group who think health care and education should be affordable."
PUTIN: "Eh. What else?"
FLUNKY: "They have other big group who think math is conspiracy and Noah left the dinosaurs out of Ark."
PUTIN: "Excellent."

Twitter hemorrhages money, so they only ban people in the most reluctant and ineffectual way. Most of the hardcore nazi trolls exploit Google Drive to crate dozens of accounts anyway, so banning them doesn't even do much.

The correct response is to not use Twitter anymore, but every attempt at a Twitter successor fails miserably.

The trolls who run that account are based in Oregon. They spoofed their location through a VPN as a prank (which backfired since they then got banned).

Google and the like seem to be doing some heavy lifting when it comes to radicalization.  I watched some Jordan Peterson vids and now half of the suggestions from Google are alt right/red pill bs.  I'm guessing it's the same if you even get close to radical Islam.

So Twitter is really about the Nazis too? Surprise surprise. They can't even follow their own policies when it comes to the biggest threat to the Untied States.

Twitter, like any other tech company, desperately wants to get bought out but they keep scaring away bigger companies because the site is a cesspool of hate and harassment. Jack and his crew of dipshiats won't even get rid of the Nazis in the name of making themselves a buck, let alone because it's the right thing to do. So basically the conclusion is all that rotten stuff is a feature, not a bug.

farkers are bots. They come here day in a day out carrying water preaching the party line of the issue of the day. They are of flesh and blood but they have no mind, only running a program.

Maybe Twitter needs a new business model and i can help.  An entire army of retweet bots, not for propaganda but for consumers to keep the advertisers happy.

No need for outrageous click bait, just a steady stream of "ready to buy" eyes.

It'll be a cold day in hell before Twitter advertisers realize they've been snookered by fake customers.
