This is not normal.  Trump belongs in a lunatic asylum.

Okay.  Accused of disregarding basic security protocols, by a man-child who is destroying the State Department and going after all levels of federal law enforcement.

As much as people talk about how he's distracting from other news and it's some grand diversionary plan, Trump's tweets really are random rantings of a man in cognitive decline. He literally probably saw this on Fox and Friends and is just parroting it.

I would make no assumptions like that.

Or at least, a very intense one, like 1929 or 1941.

It's an open secret that if you want Trump to parrot something on Twitter, get on Fox & Friends and say it there.

A few years ago there was a sailor who took some pics with his cell phone inside classified areas of a nuclear submarine. He then (while shooting the shiat i assume) shared the pics with a retired sailor who reported it to navy security who turned it over to the FBI. When the FBI came knocking he attempted to destroy a cellphone memory card and laptop hard drive to cover up the pictures, at this point he was charged and convicted.

The moral of the story here is the coverup is often worse than the crime. I dont know enough about the penalties for this kind of stuff, but i assume it would have been more administrative (demotion, discharge, i dunno) than full on criminal conviction. Once you start destroying evidence when the FBI comes knocking that really triggers their chase instinct and they arent going to let up till they've run you down and have tree'd.

Man, imagine how close we were to having people who failed to follow basic security protocols on matters of national security in a position of power?

(Beyond the obvious issues there is a clear advisement not to use phone flashlight apps to look at sensitive documents because they can be used to view the images remotely.)

Some months back I think one or a few sailors were busted & faced jailtime for taking pictures inside a sub, which is listed not as "secret" but "confidential."

Bad enough, I guess

Many people! Many people are saying this!

Also, I love that random 'Jail!' he throws in there. I like to think these aren't typed by him, but dictated verbatim.

So the president of the United States is going on Twitter to say that the Department of Justice should investigate people.
That's like your child's principal going on Twitter to complain about all the stupid teachers his vice-principal needs to see if they actually graduated from college.

I caught 30 minutes of "Meet the Press" yesterday, and it drives me mad that they try to discuss 45 like he deserves respect and careful considerations of the various moves/blunders he makes every damn week.

You need to give respect before you earn it for yourself, and this motherfarker hasn't done a damn thing to earn one iota of respect.  He's only becoming more unhinged by the day, which isn't helping matters.
