However, she has warned her model could not be used as proof of a mini ice age - in part because of global warming.

Wow. Did not see that coming.

Those of us who realized the earth was warming and immediately began praying for a solution have finally had our prayers answered.

Shame on those "christians" who out of political spite failed to recognize a global crisis and refused to do anything about it.

If we get an ice age, nobody is going to be that happy about it.

I visit a site called Quara, where people ask questions and others answer them. Today someone asked if the world was going to run out of gravity. I thought that was the dumbest thing I'd read today. Sadly, I was wrong.

FTFA: This, they say, will lead to a phenomenon known as the 'Maunder minimum'

No, the maunder minimum was a specific time frame, it's not a phenomena

FTFA: The study says that between 2020 and 2030 solar cycles will cancel each other out.

To cancel each other, we need at least 2 cycles. Which cycles are we talking about here? No information in the article.

FTFA: built up on previous research that predicts magnetic waves produced by the sun.

Do they mean magnetic fields? The sun doesn't produce magnetic waves. It has a magnetic field that can have disturbances, but saying the sun produces magnetic waves is just stupid.

/It's the Daily Mail, so now I doubt the existence of the sun.

Yeah, climate models suck at this kind of thing.  Climate models are either 1. tuned for a certain purpose somewhat less ambitious than predicting the future globally, or 2. full of it.  Climate models can be useful for a lot of purposes but projecting into the future in an environment that's changing quickly is not one of them.  You soon get out of range of knowledge and you're just blindly extrapolating.

This goes for any climate model "predicition".

Had one of those realizations last summer that I live in a place that only gets 3 months of 'reliably warm' weather in a year.  Snow is expected in 6 months, and the other 3 a significant possibility.

Yet, somehow we manage to actually grow crops here.  It's kind of bizarre.

The fact that the temp is supposed to go back up right when I head back to work is a nice added kick in the balls.

The global warming causes the ice to melt which causes the thermohaline cycle to stop and the Earth's wobble to change which causes the Earth's rotation and tilt to change which causes the Earth's Milankovich Cycle to deviate which causes the Earth to cool down which causes a change in the magnetic field which causes megaplume hotspots which cause massive volcanic eruptions which cause global cooling on a historic level which causes an Ice Age. This causes the Earth's orbit to change which sends the Earth into a collision with a swarm of asteroids and everyone and everything dies when the Earth is bombarded with asteroids making the Cretaceous extinction event look tiny by comparison. Then a supergiant star supernovas and blasts the Earth with a focused gamma beam ray, sealing the deal, just to make sure.
I modeled it and it's going to happen.

Correct. When negative externalities and market failures cause societal harm, it is the role of the government to correct the externality, and one effective method of doing so is to levy pigovian taxes.

Back in 1918, just like the Jehovah's Witnesses said.  Between WWI and the influenza epidemic, the disappearance of 144,000 poor, humble, unimportant people scattered around the world didn't form an obvious pattern that anyone noticed.

You can read all about in Alan P. Scott's Megiddo.
