That was the largest audience to witness an NBA game ever... PERIOD!

Given that the NFL game was Eagles v. Raiders, a 9 percentage drop in viewership might be considered a win for the NFL.

BalugaJoe: Boycott is working.

Or the NFL games were meaningless outside of local markets, while the NBA had a rematch of the NBA Finals.

But, the derp spice must flow.

But, are the boycotters watching the pro sport that is more diverse and celebrates equality? Let's see what happens when golf season returns.

I think saying otherwise is a fireable offense.

You may want to be careful on this one, they actually did a study on this, they found that people who enjoyed college basketball over the pro game are roughly four times more likely to have a debilitating mental disorder, the majority of college basketball fans can't even hold a job, and I don't want to lump you in with such a wonderful group of disgusting mutants.

And no, I'm not telling you who "they" is, because the courts say my cats are not qualified witnesses.  But they never saw that episode of Road Rovers where the dog saw a crime committed and had to testify in court.  There's a reason it was up there with Street Sharks for the most beloved cartoon of our generation.  Very cutting-edge commentary on our society.

Article doesn't mention that Steelers-Texans pulled an 8.9. FTA about that:

It was the top overnight of Christmas Day, topping Monday Night Football and all five NBA games, including the Cavaliers-Warriors matchup on ABC (5.5). It outperformed every NBA Christmas Day game in at least 20 years.

An OTA ratings point means more viewers than a cable ratings point, but I don't know the exact difference. So it's possible.

Nielsen ratings are usually expressed as: ratings/share.

The rating is the percent of all TVs the capable of watching that station that are actually watching it. The share is the percentage of all tv's in use at the time tuned to the program.

DesertCoyote: Let's see what happens when golf season returns.

I'm up for that. The tour schedule starts 1/11/18, really looking forward to watching Jordan Spieth win a couple more majors plus seeing if Justin Thomas can be as consistently good again.

/Or watching Spieth hit the ball 3 miles off the course, behind a media center
//British Open for the win
