Well, after living nearly a full year in the Sunken Place, the least we can get out if it is a TV Show to watch
Also, Season 4 of Black Mirror comes out on Netflix on Dec 29th!

Probably be hard to compete with black mirror.  Although if they were to go back and retell the originals in a modern setting that'd be pretty cool.

Neat.... That's actually the first Black Mirror Season 4 thing I've been exposed to. I avoid all trailers, hints or pictures for these types of shows. This kind of show is worth going in blind.

I've watched them. They give very little, if nothing away.  They're being very good about no spoilers.

It's the season of giving at Netflix. Season 3 of Broadchurch just went up last week; Season Next of Peaky Blinders debuts on December 21; and, Black Mirror.

Anyone remember an episode of a show like the Twilight Zone that had parents that made the kids go to bed by a certain time, then one day the kids disobey and go downstairs and the parents are turning into werewolves/some other monsters?  I vaguely remember it but could never find it.   Thought it might have been Twilight Zone or Outer Limits or Tales from the Crypt but haven't been able to find it.

So Peele plays Shatner's part and Key is out on the wing?

The Ray Bradbury Theater Banshee episode with Peter O'Toole. The way he said banshee kept me from getting scared. Like the monster was dressed in caw-KEE.

That could have been amazing stories, though the premise of that episode was regarding people tuning into monsters as an evolutionary allergic reaction against vampires. A vampire couldn't stay in a place too long as everyone gets sick and evertually turn into monsters to hunt the vampire down. The story is of an old man who a child is convinced is a vampire and they become friends,.. the vampire was living there just to die, and wanted to experience friends and family again before he was destroyed.   At least I think it was amazing stories

Jiro Dreams Of McRibs: The Ray Bradbury Theater

That's on Amazon but the quality looks like they're  playing VHS tapes someone recorded off the air in the 80s.

I don't need everything to be HD. I enjoy movies that go back to the silent era. But I was surprised how bad this was.

TZ is probably my number one, all time episodic tv series; I love Jordan Peele and hope he does it justice.  this is what, the fourth time they've tried to reboot it? I have doubts that it will be successful but will give it a shot.  Telling the original stories would be a bore IMO.

Rod serling was such an interesting dude, and you can see where his thoughts lay from reviewing his shows over the years.  he had clear sorrow and frustration from WW2 and how that affected the whole world, many episodes revolve around longing for the past and having a simpler life.

He had a ton of integrity as well, which also is part of why I think so highly of him.  Heres a great interview with him and mike wallace from 1960, which gives a rare insight into his mindset.

Wash the taste out with San Junipero and try literally ANY of the others. Except the Mooby one or whatever the cartoon voice guy was. It got superseded by reality.

The pig one seemed pretty lame and gross to little avail.

That was my reaction. I went back to the gut who recommended it and said, "WTF, Don?" He replied, "I should have told you to skip the first one." I started watching the rest and have loved them.

If you are thinking of watching Black Mirror, skip S1E1.

I haven't watched any episodes of Black Mirror all the way through; on Netflix in Canada season 2 is the first available and S2E01 is the "you need to be popular on social media or you're crap" one and I got bored.

Luckily, the "pig episode" National Anthem, is the only gross episode like that. You really should watch the others. Even if you are still scared of the series, you should at least watch White Christmas from between seasons 2 and 3. It stars Jon Hamm, and is one of my all-time favorite episodes of any show.

Most of Black Mirror is messed up, but not messed up/gross like National Anthem.
