(ESPN)   Billy Donovan praises selfless play of Carmelo Anthony. Wait, what? Have we shifted into a parallel universe? Hey, is that a flying car? Cool   ( espn.com) divider line

Camelo Anthony....selfless? has hell frozen over?

Meanwhile, Anthony struggled for large parts of the game

At least some things never change.

What would he say? "The owners are guaranteeing us a playoff-less season by weighing us down with this massive bust"? Not if he likes those checks.

I think the 11-12 record is far more telling.

Geez, people, it's called motivation.

11-12 doesn't really mean anything, either.

Remember when the Cavs were 5-7 and everyone was saying they were done? Now they're 17-7 and everyone who said that looks like an idiot.

11-12 means they're about .500 with 2/3 of the season left to figure things out.

/haven't watched them; just pointing out that record is useless, especially in situations like this where three guys who had their own teams are uniting

The 2010-2011 Heat started 9-8. Everyone panicked. They went 58-24 and made it to the Finals.
The 2014-2015 Cavs started 5-7. Everyone panicked. They went 53-29 and made it to the Finals.

Integrating two new guys takes time.

Lot easier to be selfless when you're too old to do it by yourself.

Must be why the Rockets are struggling with Chris Paul.

Right. Forgot Zhou Qi. I'm sure transitioning from Chinese pro ball to the NBA isn't nearly as difficult a transition as passing the ball rather than chucking up another brick.

Shockingly, it's easier to bring in a PG to a team that needed a PG to prevent all the weight of the offense being on their SG than it is to have a SG operating as PG when you also have two SFs who don't want to play PF even though that's where they'd be more effective.

Melo has always been a chucker and a team killer in the NBA. The Thunder will likely improve, but there aren't enough shots to go around for Westbrook, Melo and PG.

So... basically a 2nd tier Kobe, right?
