I had the urge to learn to play "Christmas Time Is Here" on guitar.  I love how jazzy those chords are.  As good as they sound on my PRS, I think it sounds better played on my Classic Vibe Strat.

Charlie Brown Christmas Reboot

Charlie Brown is removed from running the Christmas play for trying to introduce multiculturalism. But he is told to go off and find a tree. He brings a small tree back and is ridiculed unmerciful so he runs away and into the dark woods where he gets lost. The spirit of the forest takes over his body and he becomes a half human/half tree. Peppermint Patty, Sally and Pig Pen are found killed with pine branches lodged in their throats. They are unsure if the play should go on. Linus takes canter stage and begins to recite the true meaning of Christmas. When all of a sudden Purple Haze starts playing and army of sentient Christmas trees bust down the doors and start slaughtering everyone. The day is saved by Snoopy who drives in the auditorium on his doghouse on a monster truck body. He dispatches all the killer trees with two chainsaws mounted on the end of a staff. But at the end the huge Charlie Brown tree skews him through the back as a branch bursts out his chest. Then the sun comes up and removes all the evil spirits The only one left alive is Franklin who was hiding under the manger.

Unpopular opinion: I hate Charlie Brown. It's never been funny. It's often cruel. It's basically existential horror with zero charm behind it. The Christmas special tries to say something about crass commercialism and in the process has become a decades-long vehicle for it.

My Christmas ritual is Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, an arguably more wholesome feature with children who, in spite of being aliens, at least act like children, not like weird cyphers of adult cliche personalities...

Twas the Night Before Christmas for the win!

Actually, I do like Charlie Brown, including Its Christmas Time Again, Christmas Tales, and I Want a Dog for Christmas....  (I managed to download all Charlie Brown years ago when my daughter was super into them... like all of them).

But i still think Rudolph, Santa coming to town, Year without a Santa, Grinch, Frosty are awesome too.

And Shrek the Halls, Toy Story christmas one, Penguins of Madagascar..  man there are a lot of good ones.  And yes, we will watch a Garfield Christmas too...  (just as bad as the Garfield Halloween show)

Had a huge crush back then for Pamela Fermin,  the best "Lucy" of the bunch, also appeared on many TV shows from Lassie to Star Trek TOS, to the Paul Lynde show.  She went a little nuts as an adult, going a little overboard in her animal rights activism.

At the end one of them pitches that stick into the ditch and they bring out a new tree.

Then we all pretend that a few ornaments and some tinsel add branches and needles to a dead tree.

"Christmastime is Here" is my absolute favorite Christmas song.  It has to be the original version from this though.  Every cover I've heard has been somewhere close to the sound of the Devil dragging his dick across an accordion.

I've never actually watched the Christmas Special though.

Yes, but Thanksgiving was ONE week ago today.  I think they could've waited one or two more weeks before breaking out the Christmas specials.  I know they want to get all this stuff in before people start traveling and hanging out with their families, but a couple more weeks wouldn't have hurt.
