Yep. Just got the email - "17 of the titles on your wishlist are on sale"

But I've made myself a promise that I'm only buying games that are under $10 this time.

Jokes on you Steam!  My card got declined today for farking gas so you can't get a dime from me!

I think I'm full up on games. Haven't bought anything in the last two sales. I'll look at this one, but I don't think I'll get any....oh, Wolfenstein 2 50% off. Cha-ching.

I'm sorry, in order to play this 1.44Mb game you missed playing from 1990, we require you to download this intrusive 20Gb turd memory hole application that will permanently run in the background and hassle you for updates on a weekly basis

Thanks for the new business model

25 wishlist items for sale and only one is over half off. Don't think I'm going to be buying much of anything.

You can turn it off,  you know.   Also, it's not that large.

Hah hah,  penis joke.

I am limiting myself to picking up Tabletop Simulator.  Way too much backlog already.

I have so many games in my library that I still haven't played, like Braid, and the last Wolfstein. And to be honest, I still spend a lot of time playing TF2, though I'm still pissed that the pyro got the nice upgrades instead of the heavy.

Hmm.  Project Cars 2.  I know it's lacking in some areas, but the price seems decent enough.

Anyone know if Elite Dangerous has any sort of worthwhile single player content?

110 games owned, 34 installed (and probably half of those never even played yet).   So I know what you mean :)

I usually buy one game a year at Thanksgiving. I wonder what it shall be this year.

Hearts of Iron 3 was slightly over my head and didn't play well on my laptop, but I started to get the hang of it and my goal was to recreate the Levant with Iraq.

I wish I could find something fun like the old JoWood Cultures 2 or Europe 1400 games. Ain't got no time for multiplayer.

I mean, it's all sorta single player, when it comes down to it.  Very few things are actually multiplayer, or even reward multiplayer.

Last Wolfenstein game is good but you can knock it out in a day.

I've played almost exclusively solo. You do have to be online (400 billion star systems is a big database), but you don't have to even see other players if you don't want to.

I snagged Yonder and the Telltale GotG, but I'm probably going to stop there.  The sale goes until the 28th, so I might grab something else before the end, but the discounts aren't all that great for the games I don't already own.

You sound like you need GOG.com (Good Old Games).  Plenty of new ones on there, too, but no site software to download, just the game itself.

Even playing in Open, in 500+ hours of gameplay, I've interacted with other human players maaybe two dozen times.  And almost never beyond a simple o7 salute.

There's just so much space and so little human, that unless you're regularly in an active area, you'll rarely see anyone else.

Yeah, it's kind of 50% off after a 100% markup (they increased the price of the Season Pass a few months in from what it originally was because they had too much content or some such shiat, although you still got everything if you bought it early).  That being said, there's quite a lot of good content there (although the base game is huge to start off with).

I do not disagree with you at all.

But I have learned to live with it.

I still remember the days of CS1.6 when Steam got rolled out. Man did I f*cking HATE Steam. Absolutely hated it.

However, Steam has made Gaben 23 metric assloads of cash from Steam, it ain't goin' anywhere.

That's just the application. I have some old Apogee games on Steam that originally took 1-2 MB but now are 35 MB even though Dosbox is tiny and also always download another 850MB of soundtracks in mp3, flac and wav formats because they hate me when I just want to play the first Duke Nukem or Wacky Wheels for ten minutes.

As long as you don't get too pissed of at things being buggy as hell.

But if you are buying a Bethesda game you probably aren't too worried about that.
