Yesterday's game vs the Browns was much closer than the score indicated.

Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson ended very productive, extremely lucrative NFL careers rather than play another season for them. Two players, considered to be among the best at their position, separated by a couple of decades quit the same team for the same reason.

No but the fun part of watching the Lions is the suspense.  How will they let us down this year?  In what hilarious way will they piss away their season?  How will they back into an undeserved playoff game?

They're much more entertaining in that regard than teams like the Browns for 49ers who just suck for the sake of sucking.

Well, they were down 10-0 to the Browns yesterday

They were in 1991. They've been consistently above average the last few years - beating bad team, losing to good ones. Beating the Pack in Green Bay two of the last three years has been nice.

But otherwise, yeah, they suck. Second most pitiable franchise in the NFL.

THIS.  Already this season we've had an example of this against the Falcons where the Lions had the game won, until the refs somehow reversed a TD call and then, thanks to a random NFL rule, ran the rest of the time off the clock, ending the game.  It was truly a thing of beauty and one of the few ways I had not seen the Lions lose yet.  It made my season.

In my lifetime, the Detroit Lions have won only one playoff game.  One.

I'm fifty-seven years old.
