Exactly, subby...it IS the same side. This doesn't surprise me at all. I mean, it could have been worse. But the guy makes a living telling masturbation jokes.

He brings you to dark places and makes you laugh at them.

It may be a few years, but get ready for an hour long self-deprecating set where he talks about nothing but what a disgusting human being he is.

Oh wait...that's always what he talks about.

I heard some guys on the radio talking about how he was finished. Their arguments were like,

"HBO isn't going to come with all kinds of money to put him on."

"He's not going to be able to sell out an arena, that's for sure."

"His movie is gone. Nobody's going to give him money to do anything else."

What they fail to realize is that he funds his own projects. He funded the movie. It exists. Maybe it won't be a box-office smash (it likely wouldn't have anyway), but it's still there. He practically invented shooting his own standup special, then selling it on his own website.

Louis CK fans know he's kind of f*cked up and since he wasn't raping women, or putting them to sleep THEN raping them, or even suggesting they needed to have sex with them to keep their job, he's on the lower tier of the shiatstorm that's going on right now.

I kind of question these women. Why didn't they just laugh at how pathetic he was? I thought women were strong! They can do anything a man can do! Yet they see a guy who can't even sexually harass right and they didn't just laugh at him like a man would do?

It's going to be interesting watching the comedy world discuss this onstage and off. Mark Maron's podcast is Monday. Bill Burr's is Thursday.

My favorite part is that on top of the common sense answer you still haven't picked up on the past few weeks examples of people not wanting to lose their jobs/ability to support their families in fear of speaking out against their boss who has the power of not only blacklisting them but winning in the court room due to expensive lawyers / lack of evidence.

He still maintains he did ask first but realizes it was still an abuse of power. It sounds like he did get help but apparently he needs to be burned at the stake for making a mistake and seeking help.

Jesus that's creepy.  As a man, I just can't envision asking a women if that was OK to do in a situation where we hadn't already clearly established that was OK to do.

I could never envision asking any woman, even one I'm in a committed relationship with, to watch me masturbate. There's simply no scenario I can imagine where that's a rational desire to have.

I kind of like my sexual partners to be active participants in things, not like "hey, can you just stand there while I rub my penis?"

I haven't been in the Louis CK threads yet, so this has probably already been asked and answered, but didn't these allegations come out a few years ago too? The same thing: him masturbating in front of women.
Why is it going to ruin his career now? It didn't ruin it before.

There were rumors, but was anybody saying on the record that he did this to them, personally? And he denied the rumors. Now there are several specific allegations from women he pulled this on, and he's admitted it. I don't know if it will ruin his career, but I'm sure the consequences will never be the same.

Ah okay. I found this article a few minutes ago that kind of clarifies: http://www.vulture.com/2017/11/louis-c-k-masturbation-allegations-a-timeline.html

He admitted to doing it now. I would change ruined to halted based on his apology showed potential for recovery. Netflix/FX/et al. have cancelled current projects with him but if he acts like he did with the apology (donating to/working with groups that deal with harassment/assault victims, continue to not victim blame like everyone else is doing, and if the victims accept his apology) I say he has a chance to come back.

Wow, victim blame much?  Why the hell would anyone find that funny?  And if a woman is stuck in a room with a man who does this, I guarantee the next thing she's thinking isn't "oh, that's hilarious"...it's "what is he going to do to me?"

Also, he himself said that he was wrong and abused a position of power to force this onto unwilling participants.  So, why don't you stop white-knighting the guy and just accept that he did something pretty terrible.  The only difference is that he owns up to it and is remorseful about it.

Several men have come out with stories in the midst of this, and they all reacted to being in that situation pretty much just like the women did.

You are literally and figuratively full of shiat.

As a woman, who is a huge fan of his, I am deeply disturbed and disappointed, but not shocked. I knew there were rumors. If a man had put me in this position, I would've just laughed (maybe punched him in the d*ck) and ran for the hills, however, I realize not all women would/do react this way. Afterall, it's not my career on the line. I don't think there's a clear right or wrong answer here from Farkers. It's a sticky situation (no pun intended). Everyone is entitled to their opinions and feelings on the matter. I do have to give him props for admitting guilt. Most would deny, deny, deny. That doesn't mean I think he's excused though.

I am utterly unsurprised that CK did this kind of thing - he'd say "I want to jerk off in front of you" ... and then do exactly that.

While this is likely quite horrifying, and would send me screaming from the room, it's comparatively harmless - nobody risks pregnancy, nobody gets physically hurt. The Mental scarring... well...

But for some reason, I'm asking myself this question :

Let's imagine I am 'successful' ... in whatever it is I do. This leads me to be powerful, wealthy, and all that jazz.

Now, I'm a pretty scummy guy. but If I become rich and powerful, I am going to want to satisfy my scummy, scummy needs. In fact, one might argue that the scummy needs are the things that drive me to succeed. With whom am I going to be free to carry out my scummy desires? Pretty much everyone around me will be out of bounds because of this power distortion...

Sure, but if you're playing comedy gigs, you're hanging around with a lot of comics or even people who could label themselves as would-be comics.

There's definitely one case in there which I would describe as exploiting power, when he was producer on a show, but one thing everyone should understand is there's a lot of women out there who sleep with rich and powerful men in the hope of gaining access to their resources, and are then pissed when the guy dumps them after a night in the sack. And they will claim they were sexually assaulted or raped when neither thing happened.

From a Judd Apatow tweet I can't figure out how to imbed:

"Ms. Schachner accepted his apology and told him she forgave him. But the original interaction left her deeply dispirited, she said, and was one of the things that discouraged her from pursuing comedy. "

This to me was one of the saddest parts of the Louis CK story in the @nytimes. When you disrespect and sexually harass young, vulnerable people you become a dream killer.

Yikes! You just cost yourself a Netflix special, Sparky.

.
I do think he'll make a comeback though, returning in a very different form however.

There's no more mainstream super stardom for him, but no doubt he'll sell out clubs at will, and YouTube probably isn't above giving him his own channel.
