(Economist)   South African stock broker sells himself multiple single shares of obscure company linked to corrupt cronies of President Zuma, to draw a giant middle finger in that day's price chart for the stock. What a shocker   ( economist.com) divider line

"Regulators were less amused. Last month they fined Mr Gubb 100,000 rand ($7,000) for transactions that "created a false and deceptive appearance" of trading activity and an artificial price for the Oakbay share....Sadly the artwork itself has been lost, thanks to an act of iconoclasm by regulators who cancelled the trades and thus erased the squiggles on the chart. If only the authorities showed similar zeal when it comes to investigating real malfeasance: no one has yet been charged in relation to allegations of state capture. "

Come on internet, I know you can find this somewhere.

What a coincidence! I got an email from a South African stock broker recently, and he promised me a hefty commission to assist him in some financial maneuvers. I'll be emailing him my savings account info as soon as I'm done posting here. Looking forward to helping out that prince!

I don't know if it's physically possible (looks like it requires way more than ten fingers at several points), but I'd love it if John Batiste would learn to play that, then play it any time during Colbert's monologue that he speaks of some politician doing something truly worthy of it. It'd be a nifty inside joke way to get around CBS censors.
