Kamala Harris or Biden. I don't care which one. I just want to get that scumbag out of the Oval Office.

Either one would be just fine with me.

Time for the old whiteys to get out of the way (and I'm an old whitey). Why is there no one out there with an actual idea, some vision of what it might actually be like in 20 years instead of "the other side sucks".  So much lobbyist money I guess

I want to see Biden debate Donnie.

Hells, I want to see Biden debate ANY of the GOP possible candidates. Watching his performance against the last two rounds of elections was just an exercise in Schadenfreude for his opponents.

I am perfectly comfortable with watching it again, and watching Donnie twist and get sucker punched again and again by a guy who just sits and smiles at attempts to deflect and obfuscate. I suspect that the last election would have gone differently if Biden had run. And more's the pity that he didn't.

Sorry Joe, 2016 was your last chance.  We need someone younger who cares about the future of the nation not just their own personal glory.  Trump must be the last of the Boomer Presidents, they've done enough damage thank them very little.

I don't think that's a fair assessment of Joe, but I do agree it's time we move in a new direction. Joe can still serve important functions in a future administration and for the party.

Biden just isn't Biden enough for me to get out and vote. Plus he endorsed Hillary.
I am going to probably protest vote for some shoes dangling from power lines to show both sides are shoes.

I like Biden as a person - the character he portrays is cool.

I don't like some of his stances on certain issues.  He's not likely to be my first choice to support in the Democratic primaries - but I won't be able to say that for certain until the contenders are actually known, rather than just being speculated.

But I'll definitely vote for him if he gets the nomination, and I'll do everything in my power to make everyone I know do likewise.

You think his time has passed so you would give him SoS - after Trump?

Sure. He's pretty near expiration, let's get him on a years-long plane trip, circling the globe in perpetuity, trying to repair global damage while rebuilding a gutted State Department.

Much less work than being POTUS for a former VP.

That's not as much a shot at Joe as it is at the Boomer POTUSes we've had.  It was definitely poorly worded.  I like Joe and I think he'd be perfect as a VP but I want someone from a different generation, one that isn't so self-oriented as the Boomer politicians have been.

Yeah I'm not going to support or crap on anyone who's merely being mentioned in speculative articles at this point.  I'll wait until people actually declare.  And yes, whoever comes out of the Dem primary gets my 100% support, no matter what.

I know he's old, but I'm down for this.  Biden/Harris 2020.  I think if anyone can get the disparate parts of the Democratic Party working in step, it's Biden.  Think of him as a bridge between the current Democratic Party and the future of the party.  Plus, I think he'd be a one term President.  We're going to need that four years to fix all the shiat Dolt 45 has farked up and try to heal the divide in the country.  Biden's the man for that job and then he passes the torch to Harris in 2024.

Sec State can do the job for a couple years and then step down if they have health issues, and this is a hell of a lot less disruptive to the government than if we had an ailing president.  That's all I'm getting at.

Technically he never had to do his job as VP. Not a single tied vote in the Senate during his 8 years.

Ok I guess he has two jobs. Have a heartbeat is also needed for VP. Though Cheney managed the job with only a lump of coal in his chest so who knows.

Huh, 1942, you're right.  I think they're called the "silent generation" or something dumb.  OTOH, going to pre-boomer in some ways is worse after a run of boomers.  I think Obama was technically a boomer, but Wiki says the boom ended between 1960-1964, and Obama was born in 1961.

2017-11-10 10:08:32 AM
Clearly one of the things necessary for the Democrats to find worthy candidates is to promote ageism and automatically disqualify boomers.

Fortunately, the lack of a unifying message or any intra-party divisions over the platform won't be an issue.

If it means getting rid of the orange menace, I will happily vote for Biden. He at least knows what he's talking about most of the time and isn't a colossal shiat stain like Trump.

Biden may never have cast a deciding vote, but I'm pretty sure he worked behind the scenes to help pass legislature like the ACA.

mikemoto: Is this country incapable of finding anyone born after 1950 to lead it?

This....  I'd even go for a 67 year old Biden maybe, but, seriously, we are going to run a 77 and/oir 78 year old guy as our ticket ?

Let's not forget, here are the ages of the Democratic candidates that have won Presidential campaigns when they were not already President:
Barack Obama:  47
Bill Clinton: 46
Jimmy Carter: 52
JFK: 43
FDR: 51
Wilson: 56
Cleveland: 47

Now, certainly, even going back 70+ years, even GOP winners were younger... and people are living longer, more able lives in their 70s and 80s now, for sure.   But, the GOP average presidential starting age since 1960 is 62 years old.   For Democrats, it is 47.     Republicans like old white men who want to keep the past.   Democrats want to be able to vote for the future, which is youth and they do better inspiring the masses when that is the case.

IMO, Trump should be the last Baby Boomer we elect as President...... Democrats need to go Gen X.

We've had ailing presidents before.
Two of them who ranked fairly well were cripples (I'm counting JFK) one was clinically depressed (Lincoln) and so on.
What disrupts the government are Presidents that are bad at the job and hire poorly, not age or perceived infirmity.
