The Freedom Caucus.

They certainly don't care about "Freedom." And they certainly don't care about "Us."

I guess that just makes them cocks.

this of course is from the party that thinks Roy Moore would make an AWESOME senator.  so i'm not sure how much we should care about what pedophiles and their enablers think about the law.

"We are at risk"

The only way you could believe there's a risk, is if you believe that he's guilty.
Are you admitting that you believe he's guilty, there? Are ya?

They're just afraid Mueller will tell their wives their last "Christian Fellowship Men's Retreat" was actually a 72-hour session being tied to the bumper of a Buick Regal while a group of Somali pirates dressed as the 1997 Milwaukee Bucks went colon spelunking as a band made entirely of anchor babies plays minor-key arrangements of Lee Greenwood songs.

So the Freedum Cockus knows that Trump was colluding with Russia, if not outright purchased by Putin, and wants to keep that from being found out.  Besides, last I knew, a Special Prosecutor can't remove a sitting President from office.  Only Congress can do that.  Did that change somewhere along the way?

its not the fact that trump broke the law and might have betrayed his country to win the white house that is the problem.  its the fact that someone can actually PROVE those crimes in a court of law - THAT is the problem!

I think they're more afraid of Mueller's wide discretion to investigate any and everything he finds meaning there's a high likelihood of being investigated themselves.

How could be risking a "coup"? The only way that could be possible if multiple or even many members of a certain political party have been colluding against their own country and now risk being outed, indicted, and possibly even jailed. Like I said, that.... oh... I see.

2017-11-10 07:55:40 AM

darkeyes: The Republican platform is trying to make child rape acceptable now.

Remember the Republican motto:

IOKIYAR

If a Republican does it, it's okay. . .or at least not that bad.

So, if Roy Moore turns out to be a kiddy diddler, then to Republicans, it can't be that bad of a thing to do.

Millions, tens of millions actually, of Americans will turn out and vote blind straight-ticket Republican because Jebus, or because abortions, or because guns, or because librul's are teh debill and hate 'murica or something.

The only upside is that there are just as many, or more, people who think that's farking stupid, and their main impediments to changing the system are voter apathy, and various voter suppression tactics such as gerrymandering and voter ID laws.

Special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into whether the Trump campaign assisted Russia in its effort to interfere in the 2016 election amounts to an attempt to overthrow the government, Republicans have argued.

Are we still calling what's been done to this kind of logic "enhanced interrogation", or is it plain old "tortured" again?

FTA:
"We've got to clean this town up, and it will start with the resignation of Mr. Mueller and a proper investigation of all of this underlying case involving Comey, Lynch, the Clintons, and Russia," said Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert.

So the people who are perfectly willing to go along with what was essentially a foreign-backed coup because they got to keep the reins in their grubby partisan hands are demonstrating their eagerness to punish those they have ousted and defeated. That does stink a little of desperation and tyranny.

It's not news, but I'm still angered by it.

I gather from what Maddow reported last night nearly 2/3rd of people polled believe the Russian Scandal/Meddling is either a concern or a threat to the nation. Up quite a bit since that exact question was asked last Summer.

It's not going away and attempts to discredit it are too late for a growing number of Americans.

Getting Trumpers to understand why Russia is a threat might be difficult. Something I find odd since most of them still champion Reagan for ending the Cold War.

Well, realistically, most of his supporters genuinely won't see anything wrong. A man is a man and all...and there ain't nothin wrong with a good godly man putting his hands on a 14 year old girl's tits. It's what Jesus would do!

But yeah, they'll see it as dems trying to make a huge deal out of nothing, so we have to help that poor godly man against the forces of ebil.

Maybe these folks should have thought about this before supporting a money laundering philanderer with a penchant for ignoring laws that he didn't like, and loves schmoozing with power players from foreign lands?

Just a thought.

Don't like the idea of the President being accountable? Tough. Y'all wanted to deny the LAST President because of easily debunked 'rumors' of the elected President's birthplace, but now....yeah, this isn't a coup. It's just the wheels of justice grinding along, and we all get to watch...

The right wing controls the narrative in this country and has for decades. There is no reason to think this will not be the case for decades to come.  There are still nationalist groups throughout the former fascist countries of Europe; analogues of the same groups exist here and will continue to exist.

This is going to get worse before it gets better, and i wouldn't put even money on things getting better.  45s election was a watershed moment for this country. He is us.  It's different now.  No Eisenhower.  No Kennedy.  Not even a Nixon or GWB.  That's gone and the control of the narrative will insure it does not come back.
