Or he was fired for dropping the ball on the big farking battery factory, making Tesla a laughing stock for missing their production targets.

Also, basing an article on a changed LinkedIn status? Have we run out of cat food?

I thought this headline meant he committed suicide, not trying to set up a battery business on his own.

I don't see how that's a story, most guys self-discharge like every day...

Eh, I usually see it go more like this...

Big Boss Visionary Guy: Make this happen by this day.
Actual Engineer in Charge:That is literally impossible, as in violates the laws of physics impossible.
BBVG: Do it anyway.
AEiC: *rolls eyes* Sure, whatever you say.

Some time later...

BBVG: What do you mean we aren't ready, you said we'd be ready!
AEiC: No, you said we'd be ready, I said it was impossible.
BBVG: You are both wrong and incompetent.
AEiC: F U!
BBVG: No, F U! And you're fired!

Dude was tired of being managed by a screamer with a bachelor's degree and delusions of grandeur. 12 months from today - after tesla issues a fark ton more shares or attracts a big pockets outside investor to bail them out - elon musk will no longer be the ceo. They'll leave him on the board but they aren't going to have a choice but to bring in someone who has a proven history of hitting deadlines involving millions of units. Not sure how many deadlines this guy has to move before the board realizes he's never going to hit one but I'd say he's used his last one.

Not Very Bold Prediction - TSLA will not be doing 5k cars a week in March 2018 either

How the hell do you leave that position and dive directly into your own battery start up?   Does TSLA just suck balls when it comes to writing employment contracts?

Vaginosilicosis: How the hell do you leave that position and dive directly into your own battery start up?   Does TSLA just suck balls when it comes to writing employment contracts?

I'll assume the dude is verrry good at batteries and negotiated NOT having an onerous non-compete in exchange for signing on in the first place.

2017-11-07 11:48:30 PM
California law does not permit non-compete agreements to be enforced.
