He's making a ton of money for sure but not sure I'd say half the headache.
Being a college coach seems like a shiatty job. You have the same media pressure, maybe more depending on where you're coaching,  you spend a ton of time flying around the country recruiting and having to deal with parents and then you have big time boosters all up in your business.

Then you have to worry about the ridiculously stupid NCAA rules and a roster filled with a hundred 18-19 year-olds. Being an NFL head coach actually seems like it would be a fraction of the headache of being a college coach.

If you tell him that prior to eating them he could dip his boogers in the tears of Chicago fans, J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach Jim Harbaugh just might go for it.

And he thoroughly enjoys being a college coach.

At worst, he'll leave after he has a top heavy season (in terms of Jr's/Sr's).  The Bears and Colts will always be bad, so they're there for him if/when he changes his mind.  But no way he'd leave after coaching the youngest team in the country.  He'll want to develop those players and see how that turns out.

He absolutely does not look happy on the sidelines. I don't think he's enjoying himself.

That would definitely change in Chicago, what with it's long history of opening up the wallet to get the pieces needed to field an annual contender, and the absolute lack of "the grass is greener" attitude.

No coach ever looks happy on the sidelines.  Saban?  Belichick?  Urban?  Hell, Bo?  The sideline aspect of it is a wash.  Pro vs college, it's the same once the game starts.  It's all the other stuff they said he'd hate that he actually loves.  Recruiting  Meeting the kids and their families.  Coming up with new ways to set UM apart from a recruiting perspective.  There's nothing the NFL has to offer that UM doesn't at least match.

I'm sure Steve Spurrier agrees with you.

Harbaugh isn't going back to the NFL until the NCAA comes sniffing around looking for recruiting violations. Once that happens his need to coach professionals will outweigh his love of teaching young men how to be great football players and great men and whatnot.

You've got an interesting way of saying "sleepovers with just legal young men." :)

Unless their team has just scored - and sometimes not even then - football coaches rarely look happy on the sidelines.

Yeah, they called it a "mutual parting of the ways" or something at the time but Harbaugh's made it pretty clear that York and Baalke told him he wasn't coming back.

There is zero chance he'll leave Michigan for the Bears this offseason. And less than zero that he'll go work for that dysfunctional mess in Indy - what coach with the options Harbaugh could have would go work for Irsay right now and the mess they've created with Luck? Besides, he's a weirdo who actually likes recruiting. He's got a young team this year that loses very few guys (although a nasty schedule next year, playing @Notre Dame, @Ohio State, @Michigan State, and they still have Wisconsin as a crossover from the West). This would be an odd time to leave.

Way he's been going, coaching the Colts is the only way he'll get to Indy.

Okay.....now that you mentioned it, I do remember it being one of those "You're fired!"/"You can't fire me cause I quit!" nonsense.
