Get it right subby. It is Daylight SHIFTING time. You don't 'save' a damn thing.

Whatever it is, get farking rid of it.

I had to work an extra hour last night because of that bullshiat.

Daylight Saving Time sucks.  If you need more Daylight get up earlier farmers.  The rest of us don't need this silly system and never did

Let's  get it right people,  standard time is "daylight wasting time" and daylight saving time should be the standard.  Nobody needs to be outside at 7am in December, and if they are, they should be grateful for the cover of night.

You have this one backwards.  Later sunset = good. Standard time sucks.

2017-11-05 08:28:40 AM
The claim of extra daylight is stupid to begin with.  Sure there's more daylight in the morning, because the days are getting longer in the summer.  When getting up early, you start seeing sun in the morning, then DST, and back to darkness till the sun catches up again.  Screw that.

Also, I've lived with a farmer.  He never started his day earlier with the sun.  Even farmers don't need it anymore.  Tractors have lights now.

Well, I guess I could have quit my job so I wasn't FORCED to do it but that would be pretty petty.

I don't need the extra hour of pay and would gladly trade it for the hour off.

So yeah. I HAD to work an extra hour that I would rather not, and I'd rather not HAVE to change my clocks and sleep schedule twice a year.

Ah... I may have read your point wrong.  Either way,  i prefer a later sunset.

It's "Happy New Years" that drives me crazy.  It's New Year's Eve... wish someone a Happy New Year.  Don't drag the possessive along with it.

People who thought the current millennium started Jan 1, 2000.  They are wrong.

There's folks at work that I don't think realize DT means daylight time. They just use it all year long.  Meeting starts at 10 EDT on 11/6.  Sooo.. 9 then?

2017-11-05 09:03:33 AM
People don't seem to mind the setting clocks back to standard in the fall, perhaps because you get an extra hour of sleep. So as a compromise, I propose we keep that part but get rid of the setting clocks forward in the spring bit.

People who use "beg the question" when they mean "raise the question" :P

People who thought the current millennium started Jan 1, 2000.  They are wrong.

1/1/2000-31/12/2999 is a millennium.

I mean, at the time, that kind of ground my gears too. But WTF. Everyone had a massive party anyway.

/Pretty sure the film Sleepy Hollow done goofed as well; ISTR that Depp's character says they're entering a new millennium when they actually meant century.

I'm more annoyed by the rampant misuse of notation.

An astoundingly large number of people don't know the difference between EST and EDT, and apparently use EST all year round.

The way I explain it to the very few people who care, I say it should have been hyphenated but they got lazy.  Daylight-saving time.

2017-11-05 09:33:31 AM
It would make more sense if it was written as "Daylight-saving time"

The dash would mitigate any confusion.
