Plenty of time for a nap between game 2 and 3..

When I look at my Leafs 18 months ago compared to today it's like I'm living in Bizarro World.  I'll take it.

I think it's hard to overstate how big an impact breaking "The Streak" in Montreal this past week could have on Toronto's confidence. Looking back on it in March or April, it may well be seen as a defining game.

2017-10-21 01:13:37 PM
Well, we may be 6-2-0, but my Devils are now off for an entire week until next Friday.  Plenty of time to regain the above mentioned "fast" status, as their loss to the Sharks definitely showed the gas tanks were on E with it being their 3rd game in 4 days, lol.

2017-10-21 01:26:01 PM
How is this the darkest timeline? The Habs are quite literally the worst in the league. The only way this could be more like paradise is if I win the Powerball tonight while getting a BJ.

What, no Tragically Hip reference in this weekend's headline?  Anyway, here's Tim Thompson's hockey filled tribute to Gord Downie.

Tim Thompson is the guy who used to make the opening montages for Hockey Night in Canada, he also made this:

Love how the Leafs paid tribute before Wednesday's game, and lowered Barilko's banner.

That was very fitting.  I was reading in one of the articles how whenever The Tragically Hip performed at Maple Leaf Gardens or the Air Canada Centre, they'd put a spotlight on Bill Barilko's banner while they played "50 Mission Cap."

I clicked on the video, 'excited' is certainly the wrong word but it's more than 'interested' so we'll just go with that along with the caveat..., excited to see what Tim did as a tribute.  About 30 seconds in I was extremely puzzled by the lack of Bruins in the video.  About a minute in I was completely in the WTF? zone.  1.5 in & I finally figured out that no, this probably isn't the tribute video....sigh

So then I went back & actually closely read your post & found the right link.  I thought that the tears were over with by Wed. evening.... apparently I was wrong...

_/yes ds, it was very cool the Leafs tribute that evening

Go Flames!   I mean win, not go to the penalty box.

Go Bolts, but please let's not make Vasilevskiy put up another 43 save shutout....

Oh, Oilers.  Back to old form, sadly.  At least I get to go to the Knights game tonight.

Let's go.... Leafs?

/no Red Wings tonight

The remedy for being a forward in the NHL who has not scored in a while??

Play against the Panthers, especially with the D pairing of Yandle/Ekblad on the ice. The Yanblad pairing has to be the worst defensive duo in the history of the NHL, not to mention the most overpaid.

So expect Ovechkin to score a triple hat trick tonight, probably before he breaks a sweat.

\I cannot understand a goalie who says, "sure, I'll play for the Panthers".

I would assume that having "Goalie - Florida Panthers" is basically a résumé stain - sorta like a 2016 car with 215,000 miles on it. Then again, it did not adversely affect Craig Anderson and Lou (before he came back again).

Me, I would have to have at least a chance of winning night in and night out no matter the amount deposited into my account monthly. I have very little patience (no drugs to help with that, unfortunately), and the constant losing would drive me over the edge rather quickly. I'd probably end up swinging my stick at one of my defenseman's head one night.

lol, had no idea Dangle was going to be there doing a thing.
I was having a panic moment when I read your Leafs Raptors TFC post, I couldn't remember if the FC game tomorrow was a home game, which would make the parking a real problem (it's not) but they have a shot at most points, & most wins in a season records with a win tomorrow in Atlanta. Already have home field through the playoffs with the Supporters Shield. The Raps play their second game tonight, but hey a first game win is always a good start.

Well sure, if I was a professional athlete I'd certainly want to win on a somewhat regular basis (or at least give the impression of trying to win on occasion...).  However I was talking about 'me' & if some team wanted to pay me somewhere in the low seven figures for a season/year to do a spastic dance in the goal crease... sure, what the hell.  Certainly more than I'd make over several decades of 'regular' work.  Having to wear Panther gear to do so would, granted, take away from the overall experience.  But hey, if you're going to be a whore, you may as well be a well paid one...

The way the Habs are going they might start the season with the opposite record of last year. They can't offense and their defense are barely drinking age. Even Price can't save their butts this year.

/Would watch OTT-TOR but heading out for some axe throwin'

Is anyone watching the HNIC pre-game? Eric Karlsson looks like he belongs on the set of Tombstone, not skating around in Ottawa.

Winning the second period would be a nice tool in the box. The winning the third thing is new this year, and  fantastic!!
