If some people are so into Jesus and are so Christian, why get hung up on the ten commandments in courthouses?  Shoot, only two of the ten are against the law.

If they want to send a Christian message, how about The Beatitudes or Matthew 25?

/still think religion has no place in the legal system

To think ... we SHOULD be hopping galaxies. But, no. We spend our energy, time and money on stupid bullshiat like this.

I got an idea. Let's get fundies to fund NASA and send a mission to space to find god. Think the fundies would go for it?

/don't answer that

Ah, what a nice little bone SCOTUS is throwing us. That will totally make up for all the consumer and worker protections we're going to lose.

Mr. Jefferson, build up that wall.

They can't even be bothered to do high school math during the gerrymandering case. I knew you didn't have to take math in pre-law, but this shiat is ridiculous.

Fun fact, there aren't 10 commandments. The Bible has commandments but depending on how you count them there are at least 11 if not more. It's not in list form either. The tablet with the 10 bullet points is basically modern invention.

Is Wikipedia wrong?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Commandments
If the Ten Commandments are based on Hittite forms, it would date them to somewhere between the 14th-12th century BCE.[116] Archaeologists Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman argue that "the astonishing composition came together ... in the seventh century BCE".[117] Critical scholar Yehezkel Kaufmann (1960) dates the oral form of the covenant to the time of Josiah.[118] An even later date (after 586 BCE) is suggested by David H. Aaron.[119]

Is this in response to me?  I was generally curious.  Wikipedia seemed like it would be a fairly unbiased source of information and it had some pretty old dates in it.  I was hoping he could explain what he means by "modern invention".

The city claims it avoided endorsing a particular religion by placing disclaimers on the lawn stating the area was a public forum for citizens and that the privately funded monuments did not necessarily reflect the opinions of the city.

Well then, I suppose they wouldn't mind at all if we put up a statue there dedicated to another religion.

Add about 3,000 more and the government would have to rent space elsewhere to actually conduct business from. Or, we could just not do it at all. Most every town has many churches and front yards where your favorite religious items could be displayed, with the bonus of not being required to represent those religions you disagree with or even abhor.
