Of course he isn't stupid! He's going to pass everything because he is a republican and will pass anything a republican puts in front of him. Stupid!

"My job as a United States senator, is a senator from Arizona which I was just re-elected to. You mean that I am somehow going to behave in a way that I'm going to block everything because of some personal disagreement?"
"That's a dumb question," he concluded.

"Only a narcisisstic moron would behave like that," he could have added.

Senator, did you miss your medication this morning?

The only person dumber than Steve Doocy and Steve Doocy's son is the woman who willingly chose to bear Steve Doocy's tard seed.

I'm going to go with "it's genetic".
Or, in modern, non-science parlance, "It's a pre-existing condition"

I was always told that there are no dumb questions.  Just dumb people asking the questions.

"Why would you say something that stupid?" McCain replied, staring intensely into Doocy's eyes. "Why would you ask something that dumb? Huh?"

"Because I am pretty stupid myself", Doocy's son replied

One of these guys is the guy that went into China town in NYC, then made fun of people because they didn't speak perfect English and couldn't fully explain some minor intricacy of government, right?

I'm pretty sure the 80 year old Chinese woman who moved here 5 years ago still speaks English better and has a better understanding of government than the current president.

Thus is McCain simply being cranky when asked, essentially, if he now operates outside party politics. I'm not impressed. His reference to his constituents doesn't carry water; I'm pretty sure a solid majority of them wanted him to vote yes on any measure to repeal Obamacare.

Everything passed through the Senate should have McCain's name on the bill, see if the Idiot in Chief will have the same reaction.

2017-10-18 08:35:31 AM
My father was a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy.  After a career spent in some of the crappiest areas of the world, he was given a cushy job teaching in Millington, Tn.  As students went through each course, what they heard from the instructors was, "There are no stupid questions".  It was policy and it was repeated ad nauseum until the words didn't really mean anything anymore.

On the first day of his class, my father would go through the "no stupid questions" thing and start his instruction.  But, when the first student raised his hand and asked the first question, my father would fix him with that CPO stare and drawl out in his Oklahoma accent,

"You know, that was the stupidest g--d--mn question I ever heard in my life"

Broke the tension real quick...

Muta: "Why would you say something that stupid?" McCain replied, staring intensely into Doocy's eyes. "Why would you ask something that dumb? Huh?"

"Because I am pretty stupid myself", Doocy's son replied

"....and my dad is functionally illiterate, if you hadn't noticed," Doocy's son continued.  "In fact, the only people on TV who can hold a candle to my father's stunning ignorance are his fellow co-hosts on the tard circus otherwise known as Fox and Friends."

2017-10-18 08:42:54 AM
That wasn't so much a stupid question as an insulting one.

2017-10-18 08:43:55 AM
Even with brain tumors growing inside his head, McCain is still smarter than anyone at Fox News or in the Trump Administration.

If only John McCain had at any point in his political life shown examples in integrity or honesty, this might mean something more than, "Hey, keep paying attention to me!"

AW gonna AW.  Just cause he's a terminally ill AW picking at the man who is doing his level best to destroy America doesn't make him laudable.  It just means the broken clock will be stopped on the right time.

His job is to vote in the best interest of the people of Arizona, which is not the same as voting according to the will of the people of Arizona.

Ahem.
If I may? Let me draw your attention back to a time when a distressed woman, attending a town hall style campaign rally stood and wondered about Obama's true heritage and religious faith.

His opponent, Senator McCain, gently corrected her and reminded her - and the audience as well as those who watched footage later - that Obama was an American and, iirc, a "good man".

I try, with vigilance, to see the good things people do and say - devolving into blind, and wrong, partisanship helps nobody.

It takes more than a few moments of clarity and decency to make up for voting in lockstep with that garbage fire political party, especially when he has some bullshiat reputation for being a "maverick" that he never earned.

It was a stupid question but I don't understand the criticisms hurled at little Douche. He had the guts to ask a question every single Republican desperately wanted an answer to but was too chicken to ask. Little Douche is a giant among mental midgets.

Please see the highlighted portion of the post I replied to (above).
Understand I was offering an example of how that isn't entirely accurate, not defending Senator McCain's record.
I will continue to point out that divisive partisanship works against the nation - you go on and hate McCain.

That last minute "swing" no vote on the ACA repeal was particularly heinous

McCain probably would have voted for both of them if the GOP sent the bills through the normal channels. He never really criticized the content of the GOP's "healthcare" bill, only that they tried to pass it through with reconciliation.

Yes indeed
Those normal channels that show the fatal flaws in proposed legislation - like, what it costs and the effects on society. That allow for discussion and revision and debate to make an idea an affordable, workable law or for it to be scrapped as self-serving partisan garbage that will hurt the country.

Clearly, he is a monster worthy of derision OR his criticsm was his no vote.

FTFA: "Has your relationship with the president frayed to the point that you are not going to support anything that he comes to you and asks for?" Steve Doocy's son asked McCain in the halls of the Senate.

I mean....That's the tack that a lot of republican congress critters took over the last 8 years with the blah guy, so is it really that unreasonable of a question?

Really it's the "re-election" thats the problem. When you eliminate that issue, politician's almost become rational human beings.

McCain speaking about famous offspring saying stupid things seems a tad oblivious and/or hypocritical; the second qualifies more than the first if he actually pays attention to things his daughter says on TV.

Since that's what he's always done up to now, it's not really a dumb question.
Dumb answer though, gauged to impress even dumber people.  So at least that's working.

Both him and his daughter were a lot less crazy pre 9/11 (specifically for him pre 2000 race)

/went to school with his daughter.

McCain will continue to be a  turd until the earthworms in his eventual grave roll over, pat their bellies, and clean their teeth with toothpicks. McCain is a turd.

Don't waste your time expecting him to be anything else.

Technically it's not a dumb question now that this kind of behavior has been normalized.

It's like asking if a politician believes the Earth is flat.  Dumb question in the 1990s, but nowadays it doesn't hurt to check.
