A lot of people go to great lengths to avoid saying the name of the Cleveland major league baseball team.

Yes.  Always.

Cleveland started the war of words between both teams earlier in the season.

As the old saying goes:

This tweet is amazing. It's almost like the Indians purchased talent that performed well at first, but failed to arrive when needed the most. What did you expect from a former Met?

Also, I seem to remember a team that did exactly the above for the past 2 decades, got mocked for it mercilessly whether they were busy winning their 5 World Series titles or getting knocked out of the playoffs, but finally learned last year it was OK to rebuild from within and not spend a ton of money.

Where are they now, I wonder?

OH, RIGHT. They're in the ALCS.

Bringing up an ALCS choke job from 13 years ago is exactly like blowing 2-0 best of 5 right on the heels of blowing a 3-1 World Series - not to mention their first 100 win season in over 20 years with a 22-game win streak.

None.
The longest tenured Yankee is currently Brett Gardner who started in '08, followed by CC Sabathia from '09.

U mad?  Maybe your anger should be directed at a team that won 22 straight in the regular season but couldn't win 3 straight when it counts.

Oh and that 3-0 epic choke job the Yanks had in 2004?  They won a WS in 2009, what have the Indians won besides mockery?

We're still beating this dead horse?  Wahoo is already being phased out.  He'll probably be relegated to the arm sleeve only next year or 2019.  Probably off official uniforms by 2021.  Probably be gone from MLB licensed merchandise shortly after.

It won't stop mouth breathers from buying custom "KEEP THE CHIEF" T-shirts and bringing huge chief wahoo signs to the games, but this strategy ensures there's not a huge public outcry that only entrenches both sides further and causes cries for boycotts in the middle of a contention window.  Waking up in ten years and realizing he's been off of official merchandise for the better part of a decade without so much as a media footnote is the play here.

Read here: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/even-the-indians-cant-escape-baseballs-postseason-buzz-saw/

Then come back and realize I'm not mocking any of the Yankee teams.  And not really angry at all.  Baseball has huge variance as a sport, and playoffs make for very small sample sizes, so crazy things happen.  It's what makes the MLB postseason as exciting as it is and can be frustrating at times if the small samples cluster in the wrong direction for your team.  Very little of regular season strengths translate into playoff success, as indicated by the relatively small number of "dominant" teams who have won it all during their prime (you'd expect the success rate to be a lot higher).

As for all those WS championships NY has?  Larger market.  More resources.  More chances to get to the post season means more chances to win a World Series.  Where even if you squeak in, you've got a decent shot at winning it all.  Pretty simple really.

Your attitude about the "27 rings!11!!" thing just seemed to drip of stereotypical Yankee fan.  Hence the snark.
