Sure if I can get a glass of bourbon to wash it down.

Either they've gone completely inedible and potentially fatal, or they're every bit as edible as they were back then.  I'm not sure which possibility would be less appetizing.

I threw away an apple that had a soft spot. So no, I wouldn't.

Man, I remember always reading this dudes old website , x-entertainment.com. Much enjoyment 15 years ago reading his updates.  Nice to see he's still stuck in the 80's and early 90's.

Would these prevent that?

SteveMRE on YouTube would skip it. Lots of candy colors don't survive decades of room temperature storage.

You know, as soon as I read the headline, I thought that it sounded like something x-entertainment would have done back in the day.  Glad to find out he still has a website.

His URL may have changed, but Matt hasn't changed since his X-E days.   I fear that eventually he'll trust the wrong ancient foodstuff and we'll only know about it because he makes Fark one last time.

Processed 'food' preservatives are the stuff of legend. There's a reason the food in Fallout is still edible, be it Blamco Mac n'Cheese, Cram, Fancy Lad Snack Cakes, etc. etc.

I'm willing to bet all of the items in that article are just fine.

Thirded. I didn't realize he was still doing it.

Anything with that much sugar in a sealed package is probably  a little stale, but you'd probably still eat them after a bong hit or two.

I wouldn't have eaten that garbage back in '91.

One time with my wife and mother-in-law we stopped at this polish sausage type place that was just off a road that we always drove down. It kind of stuck out cuz it was the only business in the area, the rest of the place was all low-density Factory type buildings, warehouses, or shipping areas.

They had a bunch of snacks and drinks in the middle of the store, including some Scooby-Doo drinks that were at the time at least 6 years past their due. They had like two dozen of these. And some other really weird themed Beverages and snacks that you wouldn't expect to find anywhere, let alone or random Sausage Shop. But they were all seriously expired.

While we might always wonder what a 6-year expired Scooby-Doo drink taste like, we never went back to that particular sausage place. And we never will.

Odd. As a poor person you just described my day.

If you don't remember Slimer Fruit Snacks, don't feel bad. Few people do!

They arrived in 1991, a figurative minute before the original Real Ghostbusters cartoon went kaput. Slimer didn't have much momentum in his attempt to take over the fruit snack market, but he sure put the effort in.

Learn all about Slimer Fruit Snacks in tonight's video:

https://www.youtube.com/embed/d7RilBKu_M0

(And yes, there is a taste test. Disgusting as they look, old fruit snacks don't scare me.)
For those curious, the fruit snack shapes included Slimer, Stay Puft, the Ecto-1, a Proton Pack, a Ghost Trap and the Ghostbusters logo.

The flavors included punch, strawberry, grape and orange, though at this point they've all kinda rotted into fermented fruit salad.

Enjoy, and thanks for watching!

I wish the rest of the year was as wonderfully weird as October.

Yeesh, no.

But I would MURDER a Ninja Turtle pie.

Gum from cards printed in 1981 still looked like gum. Those don't look like fruit snacks anymore. And for anyone curious, gum from 1981 just crumbles in your mouth.
