luckyeddie: Screw SyFy. They never enable subtitles, and I cannot lip-read.

Why do they hate deaf people?

I don't think they "hate" the hearing impaired, they just don't listen to your concerns.

John Buck 41: An incredibly overrated movie from 1982?

Thanks. We weren't sure about your opinion on BR. Just make sure you say it again in the next thread.

...and that's why SyFy is trying to appropriate SF fandom, after having given up on destroying SF by inventing what I like to call "BroSF". SyFy's losing viewers to streaming channels and to folks like the BBC, so they're trying something new - actually showing old SF & pushing their SF fandom efforts hard.

Fark SyFy. Fark NBCUniversal.

NobleHam: Mad_Radhu: Sure, The Magicians technically shouldn't be on a channel called SyFy,

They changed the name to SyFy from Sci-Fi specifically to address that issue, so they could expand to areas that aren't quite science fiction.

I had my own theory. Deckard's replicant chasing was akin to running on the edge of the knife. You had to tread lightly else you'd get hurt, and you couldn't tell which side he'd fall on (human/replicant) when it came time to stop.

Wait, I thought Deckard was a replicant (since he dreamed of the unicorn), so how's he still alive in the future? I see there are a bunch of articles on this on the googles, but I guess I'll just let the movie tell me. Except I'll have to wait to rent it because last weekend we went to see It and farking aholes were talking through the entire thing and cell phones were everywhere and we vowed never to go to the theater again. Plus we got a sweet La-Z-Boy sofa with power recliners and lumbar support. Cool story bro!

William S Burroughs also was responsible for the naming of the band "Steely Dan"
Which was the nick name of a steam powered dildo in the novel "The Naked Lunch"
