Unless you want to shoot them with automatic weapons after they come out of the womb, that's just being a good American, especially if they are one of those people.

But once they're out, they'd better pull themselves up by their bootstraps. There's no free ride here kids.

It's all about control.

They hate us for our freedoms. The GOP that is.

I saw a TFer post this and I'm constantly reminded of it's validity:

This is great news.

I'd just like to point out that fetuses extracted at younger than 23 weeks have a 0-30% survival rate.

Aren't most GOP bills abortions anyway?

2017-10-04 03:20:24 PM
Is there a clause in there that makes it okay if you're a US Representative committing adultery?

2017-10-04 03:49:33 PM
Oh great. Now what am I supposed to sprinkle on my salad?

I am NOT going back to friggin bacon bits.

2017-10-04 03:51:54 PM
And it will never see the light of day in the Senate.

But I'm sure the GOP Reps who text their mistresses about the need for them to get abortions are happy the Family Research Council will still support them.

2017-10-04 03:53:30 PM
Glad to see they're still so concerned about federalism, states' rights, and those niceties.

2017-10-04 03:53:39 PM
with a different kind of eyes, you could see this as potentially cockblocking and involuntary fatherhood/child support payments, but that's none of my business... i'm just a girl.  what do i know about stuff like this.

WickerNipple: Is there a clause in there that makes it okay if you're a US Representative committing adultery?

It's in the Secret Law, that everyone knows exists but isn't written down. "It's OK If You Are Republican".

2017-10-04 03:56:20 PM
So... honestly, is this so terrible? Isn't that 5 months? At what point do they loose the gills and tail?
I get that one might not know they are pregnant for the first month or two, but then you still have 3-4 months to get your sheit together... Serious question.

It isn't as if it is being banned completely; this is like the gun crowd freaking out about reduced capacity clips magazines...

McConnell is not happy right now. He'll be forced to either jettison the filibuster or accept it will be filibustered..

2017-10-04 03:56:46 PM
No abortions after 20 weeks? Sure. As long as it also includes no magazines or firearms that holds more than 5 rounds.

What's that? That's infringing on your rights and is pointless and clearly unconstitutional? HMM! YA DON'T SAY!!!

2017-10-04 03:57:07 PM

WickerNipple: Is there a clause in there that makes it okay if you're a US Representative committing adultery?

That is different and God's okay with it because reasons. Reasons, I says.

2017-10-04 03:57:46 PM
Good. This means that they've solved that problem where they don't have enough money for their statist government so they keep borrowing more.

Somacandra: McConnell is not happy right now. He'll be forced to either jettison the filibuster or accept it will be filibustered..

If McConnell ever thinks he has 50 reliable Republican 'yes' votes, he'd nuke the filibuster in a heartbeat. And when McCain dies and is replaced, he might just get his wish.

2017-10-04 03:58:50 PM
The right to privacy (from which the right to pre-viability abortion derives) is just as much a constitutional right as, say, the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.  But I bet if you did a Venn diagram of the national's gun rights advocates and those who support the right to choose, it would look nothing like a circle.

It's not, really.

The State wants moar taxpayers, Corporations need moar workers for their slave wage jobs.  Entitlements like health care and a living wage cut into their profits.

Why is the Catholic Church against contraception?  Because it deprives them of tithing shills to drain like vampires.

Problem is defining the time. Not like when you paint with baby batter it etches the date and time in the uterus. There will be a whole lot of court arguments about how long things were along before babby got removed.

Anyone who supports a 20-week abortion ban does not understand women's health or the realities of abortion. 95% of elective abortions are first trimester. Later than that and it's happening bc of fetal abnormality & danger to the mother. This law will KILL women. #NoAbortionBan

20-week abortion bans aren't just a theoretical danger to Roe v. Wade. They hurt real women. https://t.co/YbhddNqazU pic.twitter.com/lJHbd0Y749

If unborn fetuses are babies then I guess the expecting parents should be able to apply for all the same programs that kick in once the child is actually born, right? And the household size increased by 1 after conception. Can that let you use the carpool lane?

On most issues, he already has 50 reliable votes. Just not the ACA repeal.

Those dirty libs won't be happy until they have on-demand abortion up until contractions start. Alex Jones had a very interesting and insightful show about it. You should educate yourself and check it out.

it's always a good idea to let kids into this world when they will be unwanted and unloved or mentally or physically not up to specs or be born nto a family with no means of supporting them (financially, emotionally)

Random, unsourced thought: Perhaps there's some horrible genetic mutation that can't be tested until later in the pregnancy. Maybe the dad got cold feet and having a baby wouldn't be financially reasonable. Or maybe it could be any reason or no reason at all and it's nobody's damn business what the mother decides, gills or not.
