I'm a huge fan of rock. And I love the blues-rock. But for whatever reason, I just could never get into Aerosmith. Never hated them, just...meh.

I loved them back when I was a kid in the 70s-80s, now it mostly all sounds childish.

He is back on crack. No heart attack. Sorry wrong band. Aerosmith is done like Slade.

I was hoping this was a reference to the show with all the stock footage

I was never a big Tom Petty fan, but I liked him alright. I wasn't distraught when he died or even a little down, but I took the day to remember him through his music. It was the least I could do.
If Steven Tyler dies I'll continue to pretend that Aerosmith does not exist.

Me too.  They are good but not great.  I think Joe Perry is incredibly overrated though.

But the intro to Sweet Emotion is one of the best intros of all time.

70s Aerosmith- Very much yes.
Later Aerosmith- Treading water in a sea of retarded sexuality.

One can have a heart attack and never know. There are week-long attacks that have early flu-like symptoms.

They had a fantastic period in the mid-late 70's playing dirty sleazy blues influenced influenced hard rock but then the drugs got to them, Perry left and they never really recovered (even after he came back, they didn't sound like the same band - though they became huge)

I saw them in 1978 with 400,000 of my closest friends. They rocked it.

Saw them many more times over the years and they held up better than most old rock acts.

Yep.
Saw them in Springfield, IL. in '85.
Halfway through the first song Tyler fell of the stage, got helped up, then got into a fist fight with the bass player.
End of show. No refunds. Thanks for coming.

Fark those guys.

Dang, 18 minutes late. I thought the same thing. That show brought lots of boobies to screen.

Come on, they're entertaining people, not playing with toys in the attic. Get a grip.

Really, they lost me after Nine Lives, and even by then they were starting to slow down.

upload.wikimedia.orgI put a lot of quarters in this game.  Thought it was weird then, even playing it at Exhilarama with giant robotic dinosaurs behind me and an indoor roller coaster over my head.  I never saved the band members.

Live! Bootleg (1978) is the pinnacle of their career. It's all downhill after that.
