FTA: "The dropped "a" before "cemetery" is a characteristic mistake for Russians speaking English. "

Years of watching shows like Monty Python's Flying Circus taught me that dropping "a" and "the" is also a characteristic mistake for British people speaking English.  ("I need to go to post office," "he's off to university," "trouble at mill," etc...)

I'm currently visiting Russia. Maybe I should pay for an ad on my FB page while I'm here since it seems to be the trendy thing to do. Although, I don't think I could force myself to make a pro-Trump statement, so I guess I can't join the cool kids after all.

There had been a number of people posting "thank yous" to Russia for the help in electing Trump directly after the election.  Most of them appear to have been taken down now for some reason.

I always thought the "shiat their pants just so a Democrat had to smell it" analogy lined up pretty well with Trump voters.

If those were images posted in groups, they're not really ads, are they? They could've been shared with way more than 10 million people.

Personally, I saw a lot of Jill Stein crap pop up in my feed. I think it's only a matter of time before she gets pulled into this, too.

When I was working for a latin american marketing firm in Colombia, they were throwing a big shindig in Miami, and this girl in the Bogota office was writing the copy.  I worked for a different division, but as a courtesy i would look over correspondence.

She had lived for a year in Denver, and could speak fair-to middling English if it revolved around drinking and finding out what you wanted to lunch.  She was hot, so she had a job.

So I walked past her desk one day, and there is a invitation the party

"Come to our Super Blow Party".

I told her she might want to rethink that.  She said she knew what she was talking about.

I explained that Super Blow could either mean really good coke or a really good cocaine.

There were actual paid ads.  There were memes and fake news (literal fake news, not the Donald Trump kind where he claims its fake simply because he doesn't like it) that Russians created and put online, then had hundreds of people working at troll farms paid to promote the fake news and memes on Facebook, Twitter, and absolutely no other social sites whatsover.  Nope.  None.  Just Facebook and Twitter.  So, anyway, how bout those Yankees!

Yes, yes, all the documented evidence of Russia working with the Trump campaign/GOP to undermine the US elections is just a witch hunt. We REALLY should be investigating Benghazi and Hillary's emails!

"We're obviously deeply disturbed by this," Joel Kaplan, Facebook vice president for United States public policy, said in an interview. "The ads and accounts we found appeared to amplify divisive political issues across the political spectrum," including gun rights, gay rights issues and the Black Lives Matter movement.  Joel continued, "I mean, we saw the ads, and certainly took their money, but we were always kind of worried.  Not enough to actually do anything, but our hearts were in the right place.  Right Mark?   Mark??"
