Maybe this is some elaborate ploy, like Leto II's 5,000 reign in God Emperor of Dune, where we are punished for the betterment of the human race as a whole.

Can someone confirm that Trump's orange coloration is botched spray tanning and not dozens of sandtrout?

Good.

I'm not a huge fan of the mainstream media (hey, I'm on Fark!) but I'll take vapid over evil any day of the week.

Woopsie Trump is actually Donald Trump's hidden half-black brother, a b-list Vegas comedian and sometime radio show host. Woopsie has stayed largely out of the public eye siince the election but is now planning a new tell-all book - "I'm Woopsie Trump - Love Me!"

I doubt that severely because Trump isn't that intelligent nor that motivated to serve anyone other than himself and maybe his kids.

Sandtrout are translucent. They also contain pearls of omniscient awareness.

Neither of these are in evidence when contemplating the Gaffe Emperor.

There's nothing wrong with being distrustful of the media. In fact, you should be distrustful and disdainful of the media! Their penchant for sensationalism over clarity has done a lot of harm. For farms sake, the only reason Trump got as far as he did was because he was louder and more obnoxious than all the real politicians, and consequently got more coverage.

Of course, if you're distrustful of the media because they're too biased against your favorite politician and not because the media is a business that profits off of conflict, then fark right off.

Media reporting on the few public controversies I've been involved in has been pretty uneven, but at least they're trying to get it right.  Trump flips between not trying and actively lying.

I don't advocate distrust for the media - that's just another element of the received cynicism which certain forces cultivate and nurture - but I am certainly an advocate for critical thinking. We are surrounded by information, and it's our responsibility to become competent consumers. Evaluate the source, consider alternative explanations, engage your bullshiat filter, beware confirmation bias; that sort of thing. The process applies with equal force to the New York Times as to Fox and Friends. Be smart about what you hear and read, and you will be embarrassed less often.

His foundation hides as severe a case of rosaceae as you've ever seen... It is almost always tied to cognitive impairment resulting in dementia in people his age.

He should have known this, as he has used the same effect as the basis of his whole political rise.

If people are abusing you then they are talking about you, and look as if they are scared of you. He made people attack him, and the more direct and personal the attacks, the more they look like they are obsessed with him then more he became the story of the campaign, and his base think 'wow this guy is onto something or why are they going after him'

He won, he is the establishment now, and as he personally and abusively attacks the press and journals/journalists individually, people think 'holy fark this guy hates the Washington Post, they must be pretty serious and really get under his skin' and they pick up subscribers and public image.

Just shows he in fact has no understanding of his own strategy, and was just either doing as he was told by smarter people or just being a dick because he is a dick and it happened to work out for him.

Well, allow me to correct myself: you should be distrustful and disdainful of the media, given the media's prevalent nature. Cynicism is good in this sense that you should never take anything off the cuff; double, even triple check your sources.

I like when people say things along the lines of "Ever since Trump brought up the NFL thing the media isn't paying attention to the healthcare failure or Puerto Rico anymore!" and then a cursory glance at the lead news outlets show several links to recent pieces on it. That and Congressional offices repeatedly saying that they've received the highest number of calls in their history because of bill X.

Eventually even the dumbest of the dumb has to admit that Trump constantly makes statements that are easily proven as complete lies.

How often does Trump have to call something fake news that is shown to be absolutely correct before nobody trusts anything he says?

Sadly there appears to be a 30% or so level of support that will spin anything he says into some kind of intentional effort to troll or that Trump is the one who is telling the truth and the media is lying.

Gosh, a statement made 7 years ago by Obama:

"If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, 'We're gonna punish our enemies and we're gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us,' if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it's gonna be harder and that's why I think it's so important that people focus on voting on November 2."

It may be poor phrasing but what is your point? This is how democracy works, you vote against people who don't represent your interests and for those who do.

Those are still pretty horseshiat numbers for press approval. Just an indication of where we are at as a country. Kind of falling apart. Trump is leading the way, Putin is chearing him on.

It's very simple. You just have to remember not to think about any details at all. Trump said something about enemies, Libs think that is bad. Obama said something about enemies, therefore both sides are bad. Except for whoever is Republican. The Libs are hypocrites for thinking that they are bad.
