After all, the leopard is never salivating over my face.

And no one in Puerto Rico voted for Hillary; it isn't a state, so they don't get a say in the Presidency.
Which means that the entire island did something which is, to Trump's mind, even worse.  They didn't vote for him.

They voted, it just didn't count.  That's because they want to stay a territory, and as such don't get all the benefits of a state.  It's the same as Samoa, or Guam, Or Rota, or Saipan...I bet you never heard of those either.

Really?  Puerto Rico voted in the Presidential election?  I don't suppose you can tell me the results of that vote?

Oh, and while you're at it, could you also tell us what where the results of the last two referendums on whether or not to become a state?

Know how I know you have no idea wtf you're talking about? Oh please. You think the Northern Mariana's Islands is somehow relevant to the conversation? Here's what matters: While Puerto Rico may not be a state--and as much as this next part galls you--the residents of that island are still American citizens and deserving of every right. Those rights, by the way, include competent and timely help from the federal government in times of disaster. Like, say, hurricanes.

Said it before, but the GOP is a death cult based upon hating anyone not in the in-group. Either you are of the tribe and are to be protected, or outside the tribe and to be demolished.

It would explain the reflexive partisanship and hatred of anything Democrats ever want to do, regardless of the actual effect of the thing the Democrat is proposing.

The TX and FL efforts didn't "go fine". The Cajun Navy came in from out of state and worked their asses off to help, along with a bunch of other folks - they're just one of the most visible. Even Canadians drove all the way down to help rebuild the electrical infrastructure. And hurricanes there, well, they did less damage, horrifying as they were.

PR doesn't have that. And you can argue that it's PR's fault for not being prepared for this 100-year level event, if you like. I'm not sure why the point of that would be. They don't just have shiat laying on roads, in some parts the hurricane tore up the roads, scraping them apart with debris. The damage goes past what anyone might reasonably expect and plan for.

And it's certainly not all Trump's fault. A lot of blame can be laid at FEMA's feet as well, and we all know the buck stops anywhere but the Resolute desk in this administration.

it could have been something like what is being used on the embassy workers in Cuba. who knows. It benefits Trump hugely because he hates Vegas, he gets people to unite and be more patriotic making those who "take a knee" more unpopular and twice as disrespectful, and none of it directly has anything to do with him so there's no way he can take the blame.

it's like as if an evil wizard or something ordered up something "pure evil" to make him look good in comparison.
