Interesting, bc US politics is more about the message (hello Marshall Mcgluhan) than the actual facts

George Bush lost the Katrina debate bc the facts on the ground contradicted his narrative

But Trump has hijacked the process to the extent that his base believes his excuses

Will be interesting to see which view prevails: Trump's "Look  how much we are doing" vs  network coverage of people suffering

Trump is a cruel person. Sorry that you people who voted for him were blinded to it. He doesn't care. If it doesn't affect him personally, it falls off his radar immediately.

I grew up with a narcissist parent. The whole world revolves around the narcissist, or so they think. If it doesn't-----If attention is taken off them for just a second------they get irate.

Your feelings? Don't matter.
Your suffering? Don't care.

Another thing about narcisstic people? They always kick downwards. They want those easy targets to abuse. And when they run out of those, they work their way up the food chain.

Inside they're needy little children who are bottomless pits of despair.

Attention and effusive praise sustains them for about 5 minutes. Then they need more. Always need more.

And when you criticize them, oh my god. You are to be punished as they see fit. The mayor of San Juan is the most recent example of this.

My mother used to make my dad go up to my room and say to me, every time I was busy and minding my own business, 'your mother says you don't appreciate her enough.'

Then I'd be obliged to go down there and listen to her ciriticisms of all the things I was doing wrong while she maneuvered me into telling her what a great mother she was.

It was never enough. Nothing is ever enough.

Of course I got fed up and moved far far away. I have been virtually no contact for 12 years.

Watching Trump in action activated my PTSD caused by years of narcisstic abuse. I can predict his every move. It's textbook.

I feel a poem coming on...
assets.nydailynews.com

"Puerto Rico is doing fine"
Says Trump from the front nine
.
This is news to the people living there
who spend the day finding someone with a quart of gas to spare
.
But to see why the Puerto Ricans are entreating
You've got to stop golfing and tweeting
.
The youth of America has spoken
let us pause while Trump has his legs broken...

I feel so very, very sorry for this little boy. His president would be totes more enthusiastic about Hurricane Maria had it not only wiped out the electricity, cell phone service and buildings, but swept away the bulk of the PR population with it.

I'm quite sure Drumpf (and Melania if she goes) will look even more disgusted at having to meet "the people" as they did in TX & FL. With rumors of cholera breaking out, I can't wait to see him & her wearing hazmat suits being so close to "the poors."

Hopefully you've recognized that you should remain in therapy the rest of your life.

Personally, I believe therapy should be mandatory for everyone, as there is no human who doesn't need it.

Everyday existence is hard and for some, even harder, and for some more, even worse.

Oh sure. Now you tell us that narcissism is toxic. Trump told us he was a protector and strong.  And that Dunning Kruger was just a theory.  The backside of that he's not the only narcissist one encounters -- bosses, spouses, friends, neighbors -- sometimes all in the same day.

It can get exhausting.  As for protection, when a guy blows through his predecessor's year budget in two weeks for his own protection, no one should feel any sort of secure.

Trump is just building off 30 years of conservative media telling low-information people not to trust anything that doesn't come from inside their anti-reality bubble.  If you spend a generation convincing people that outside sources are bogus and "we're the only ones telling you the truth", you end up with cultists.
