doglover: Even scratching your balls creates gravitation waves. It's just harder to detect than blackholes.

In stormy weather,
They struck together....

/It's going through your mind now, innit?

Wait... Who and when was the first man on the moon and from which country? It's how I keep all my time lines straight.

Has anybody seen my cat?

Leonardo Dan Vinci June 11 1514. From Italy, but Pope Julius II was his benefactor, dying just before the fateful trip. Pope Pius X almost kiboshed the trip before being convinced by the Medici family it was better to be remembered as pro science... So Rome?

Harlee: qorkfiend: Harlee: gaslight: Given how long gravitational waves are, I can't see how you'd notice. No need to secure the china cabinet, everyone.

Just checking. The longer the wavelength, the shorter the frequency, right?

Longer wavelength = lower frequency

Duh. Right. Thanks.

The graviton, if it exists, is supposed to be tiny, though, right?

It was first determined to have an extremely small maximum mass it has to be less than 7.7 x 10-23 electronVolts by - get this - LIGO's first 3 observations.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: WHAT PLANET IS THIS???

It's still Earth, but now we have five simultaneous days in our time pentagon.

Eddy Gurge: Thanks for the heads up. I was feeling a bit beside myself.

Eddies?

kkinnison: So how fast were they traveling?

"Black hole A leaves the Sagittarius galaxy traveling at .093c. Black hole B leaves the Andromeda galaxy traveling at .13c. Answer the following questions:
1. How long will it take them to collide?
2. How far from the midpoint of the two galaxies will they be when they collide (round to nearest parsec)
3. How far away do you want to be from them when they do?
Show your work.

Yeah, he actually sent me this video.  Was just at the World Feline Congress, chilling out with the human in the B&B he's renting for the week.

He also tells me after he flies back that he's going to be visiting his old littermate at the bodega and wants to know if he can pick you up something.

It's kind of like that weird sensation you get going up and down in an elevator...

:P
